I really like the look of Castlevania DS

it shows how nice 2D can look on this system

so does this mean when KOF shows it's ass on the system, it'll be like playing an enhanced NeoGeo version?

can the system push the graphics to MOTW quality animation?

Whether it can or not doesn't make much difference in the end (unless they plan to port old games), considering current arcade games don't have MotW quality animation...

In terms of sprites it has the same limits as the GBA iirc, but of course you can make a polygon rasterizer to render sprites off flat quads, that means lots of them with every effect imaginable (blending, zoom, rotation etc )

ds 2d hardware is the exact same as the GBA with the only change being vram size.

The quality of a port would matter if the DS can output 4096 colors at a time. The amount of frames used in one animation would depend on how much space the developers can play with.

Even if DS could produce better 2D graphics (better than NeoGeo originals), I doubt SNK would redraw KOF for a handheld port.

I'm somehow saddened by that info.

And why would SNKP finally redraw KOF for DS when it doesnt do it for their main releases (Arcade, PS2, etc etc)...?

Fuck MOTW type graphics on the DS.

Just fucking make KOF R-3 or Fatal Fury Second Contact already.

I think you're the one who's confused.

The point is simple: Playmore can't make high-res or MotW animation quality for their arcade and home console releases, so there's no way it's going to happen on a handheld, regardless of the power of the machine (which, no matter what, is clearly overall inferior to the Atomiswave, PS2, etc).

I got what he said exactly, he was saddened by the DS's sprite hardware.

Ah, okay. May have been better to just quote what you were replying to, then.

No, you did not. You quoted the whole thing.
While a few other members seem to have gotten better with time, you seem to get more and more stupid every day.

then what do they have in mind for the KOF DS?

probably going to take the EX series

add some frames of animation

and some other nifty yet useless effects

I shouldn't hold my breath, eh?

but I was thinking they might, at the least, be able to give us a KOF that resembles the NeoGeo versions

P.S. MOTM > all neogeo pocket fighters
