I'm redoing my control panel with new plexi ( the old one was covered in cigarette burns) and stripping and painting the panel. I need a new CPO since this is a conversion and there are a bunch of extra holes in the panel. But, since it's a conversion, I can't use the CPO that has the graphics that go around the buttons and the windows for the credit LEDs. The one I had was more generic, with just the MVS logo and red/white stripes (problem was it was actually yellow, not white  ).

Here's what it looked like.

And here's what it looks like now.

I'm not interested in a reproduction, just NOS. I'm not really interested in making my own design, although if I can't find one in the next few months, I may just do that. I'm aware of the digital version on localarcade.com, but it's the dedicated version, and I'd rather just have the real thing, since it's supposed to wrap down to the underside of the control panel and not all of it will be covered by the plexi.

This isn't urgent, and I don't want to break the bank trying to find one of these, but if anyone knows where I could get one, I'd be super happy :D I don't need the button labels, but if someone has them that would be cool too.

Dang... That's exactly what I need, but that company does inkjet repros, instead of silkscreening, so they're crap quality compared to the real deal-- the colors fade for one thing (and they probably aren't quite right out of the box anyway). I got burned on a cheap Q*Bert CPO repro, and it was crap compared to the real thing (I ended up with a repro from Arcade Renovations, which has excellent quality ;))

If Arcadeshop, Phoenix Arcade, or Arcade Renovations made a CPO for the Neo, I wouldn't have any qualms about getting a repro. Unfortunately, I've only seen companies like this doing them :( I can wait on ebay if it comes down to it.

Thanks for the link though, I knew I'd seen one somewhere but I couldn't find it again :)

If you could ever get a higher scan of this you could get classicarcadegrafix.com to do it.

I have all that artwork as an illustrator EPS (Vector), I redrew it once for a set of sticks I wanted to make. PM or Email me your exact dimensions and I will get it over to you.

That's the same problem though, classicarcadegraffix does a shit job of repro'ing artwork. They use substandard materials and processes, and you end up with a poorly printed, off center cpo that doesn't even have the correct colors (color is less of an issue with the NG artwork in question, but regardless, I'm not going to fund these clowns). Like I said, if a reputable company made a repro, I'd jump all over it, but they don't.

I don't mean to sound like a whiny bitch (I do appreciate the responses ;)), but I'm involved in arcade collecting beyond just the NG, and companies like classicarcadegraffix are doing a disservice to the collecting community IMO. Some of them offer artwork that the quality companies don't, but it doesn't even come close to looking original. And the material quality is so poor, they start cracking and fading in months. I just can't send money to these guys. The color differences are so bad in some of the pictures I've seen (and the Q*Bert cpo I got from classicarcadegraffix), it's like they're not even trying. At least one of these companies (don't know if it's arcadegraffix or another) has taken artwork from localarcade.com and used it to print their own repros for sale. That's just really crappy if you ask me. I know a guy who put something like 80 hours into digitizing the sideart from Galaxian, and someone else came along and made a profit off his dontation to the collecting community; it's just a shame, and I can't in good conscience hand them money after hearing about that.

Now I'll step off my soapbox, since that's getting a bit off topic :lolz:

dubdubdub, could you send me the EPS file? I might just find a generic black overlay, and print the colored part myself to go under the plexi. Not my preferred option, but it sounds like I may be waiting a while for a NOS piece. I think I'll probably wait for a few months to watch ebay, but if nothing happens, I may just go that route. I'll PM you my email.

FMonk, those are the crappy repros I was telling you about in the KLOV forums. BTW, are you still coming to CA Extreme?

I am totally coming to CAX! :D I am still getting my shit organized as far as my grad school stuff goes (and I do want to interview you at some point, probably before or after since I imagine the weekend will be pretty packed for you ;)), but otherwise, the hotel and plane tickets are booked. I'm sure we'll talk about it more over on KLOV in the next week, I'm totally stoked!

As far as the on topic stuff goes, yeah, I knew there was at least one company doing a repro; too bad it's one of the crappy ones :(
