Well, I just Dl'd the demo and played through a few times.
Absolutely bizarre game, but I can't help thinking SCEA is just trying to capitalize on the whole Katamari craze(actually, I thought interest in Katamari games was starting to wane at this point?)

Yep. 2D Katamari-esque wierdness...not too bad, though.

It's a really fun game.

Once you learn how to control it then it's super fun.

The retail version is out right?

No, only the demo is out in North America. You can download it for free if you have the latest firmware...I'm going to assume the commercial release of the game will force a firmware upgrade as well.

I think it was EGM that said it plays "like a DS game on your PSP".

Whatever the case, it's definitely worth a free download :D

I think the comercial release is out soon in europe (the game is already dumped).

There is actualy two demos (first one is better).

Loco roco is definantly a great add to the psp library. Psp needs more original titles like this & exit.

I got the Aisa release of it yesterday(english text, sweet), and Im disapointed, to say the least.

The controls are simple, and on target(L/R moves screen l/r and makes loco move that direction, O makes the locos dispearse hold to make em reform, and L/R together make em jump) but it just has not wowed me. I love the art style, I like some of the tunes, some are catchy, and it is realy cool when yur locos sing Acapella(sp?) to wake up something, but the game is just meh to me. You simply move the loco from left to right to get him to his home.

It seems like a watered down lemmings to me. There is zero veriety in the locos except for what songs they sing, but that has zero effect on game play. There isnt much story to speak of, and stages offer little challenge. I am up to world 5 and have not died yet, and although I have not collected every item(and there probably is some challenge to doing this), I really dont care to. I wanted to collect every item in NewSMB, cus I was hoping for a new level to open up, path, etc, this I could care less about. It has its wierd elements, but its just something that a passer buy would go, " WTF are you playing?!?!", at first glance, but then oncesat down with, the novelty would wear off extremely fast.

Very average at best, 5/10

How much space do you need on your memory card to DL the demo?

New LocoRoco contest thing.

here's the winning code if you don't want to auctually play:

0OJQ99H

you only get some PSP backgrounds, 2 mp3's, and some desktop backgrounds...nothing special, but cool idea.

I've been playing through this during the past week and it is a fun little game but nothing too amazing.

7/10.

Finally got around to messing with my PSP while Realms had a Rolling Restart.

Downloaded the demo and I like it. Not quite what I expected as it is so simple. Not to mention I suck at it. :annoyed:

I got a copy imported from the UK about 3 weeks ago. I think it's a great game. It's probably the cutest game you'll ever play. The music is great and the simplistic style of the game just gives a happy-go-lucky type of gameplay. Most of the challenge is in getting the Hidden Loco Rocos, Mui Mui's(creatures that give you hidden house parts) and finding the little Flea creatures. The minigames are ok but nothing real Challenging. I did like that you can use the Select button to take pictures anywhere in the game and even send the pic to another PSP. And you can build your own wacky loco roco houses and upload those to another PSP. I think people expect too much out of this game. Its just a wacky, silly game much the way Katamari Damancy was wacky and off the wall. I'd easily give it and 8 or 9/10.

I was going to only rent this, but I figured what the hell and picked it up anyway.

It's a cute, happy-go-lucky game that is easy to play and beat. The real challenge in this game is finding everything there is to find, although I have to agree with the above poster in saying that there's isn't quite the "push" to do it like in some other games of its type (like Katamari or Super Mario). Maybe the game is a little TOO laid-back.

I have to say I'm disappointed with the way the game plays a little bit; I was expecting the Loco Roco (Or whatever the blob you control is) to move a lot more when you tilt the field. It seems like you have to do a lot of jumping (Hit L+R) to move through the levels.

I'd recommend this as a rental to most people, or wait for the inevitable price drop. It just doesn't have that "WOW" factor that Katamari Did on the first play through, or the fun factor, for that matter. 6/10

But seriously. It does smack of, "Hey everybody! We can be wacky like those crazy Japs, too! Look at how zany we are! It's a blob. He's blobbing around and singing. It's craaazy."

Anyway, I like it. Not a revelation or anything. But cool. However, [GAME DELETED] doesn't deserve to live in the same *sentence* as Katamari.

:kekeke: @ this idiotic post. The Japanese made this game, dumbass.

I downloaded this a few weeks ago and it was okay. It's kind of fun and the controls need getting used to. The only reason I stopped is because the save function wouldn't work properly for me. I have no idea why. I probably would have played it more otherwise. I would give a 6 or 7 out of 10.

I picked it up over the weekend.
I am surprised to find that the song from the demo (which I adored in all of its cuteness) gets reused over and over in the game from when you break into little pieces for events. That sort of ruins it for me because it plays way too often.

I'm really enjoying the game though. Early on, there's this ice level and the physics and slipperyness of the ice are just spot on.
I really am enjoying it aurally as well.. I love how the song changes and all the voices sing along when you break down in pieces during the level.. it's such a cute but subtle touch.

It's really fun and engaging for the first few hours, but after a while you just start to realize that the game lacks enough depth to hold your interest in the long run.

If you're anything like me, you'll get bored of it by the 3rd world.

I'll probably sell it without seeing it through to the end.

I don't do that with a lot of games.

A shame really.
