posted on other forums but im posting here because i want to know what the neo-geo and atomiswave players play and want.

pretend right now, i decided im going to start my own arcade. arcade would be located in SoCal.

tell me what Cabs and Games you would want to see in it and how many. also events you would want to happen every now and then (tournaments?). my games would be priced from $0.50 to $1.00 USD, cabs and PCBs would be maintained and cleaned every 2-3 weeks, and i wont tolerate anyone damaging ANYTHING (what i mean by damaging is people kicking and punching the cabs when they lose for example. if its an accident, I'll understand). evrything from the cabs to even the bemani games (beatmaniaIIDX!!!) will be straight up japanese. as far as the version on IIDX is concerned, ill try to make sure the DistorteD is unlocked or a network hack can be put on because we will miss out on all the cardinal gate songs ('waxing and wanding' for example). Since americans and europeans have big body frames (we're not as thin as the japanese ya kno Wink) i might see if i can have some cabs linked together (ppl that have been to AI should kno what i mean) so ppl arent scrunched up together. it will be an arcade that I hope evryone will enjoy and want to come frequently (like how I felt when I first went to AI). lets make this place up to KillerCabs standards!
Ill start the list off. I left obvious decisions out so ppl can fill them in

Cabs:
?x Astro City 29 cabinet (dunno how many)
?x Astro City 2 cabinet (dunno how many)
?x Blast City cabinet (dunno how many)

(will try to find tri-rez monitors for all cabinets if possible)

2x beatmaniaIIDX (1x HAPPYSKY 1x DistorteD)
4x Initial D arcade stage ver.3 (double units) (USA and JPN ver. due to card comaptability issues)
2x Battle Gear 3 double units (hopefully nesys enabled)
1x Keyboardmania 3rd mix
1x beatmaniaIII: The Final

1x Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
1x Marvel vs. Capcom

Well asking here in NG, im sure people would like to see stuff like Metal Slug(s), KOF (s), Samurai Showdown(s), a few shmups and random stuff like windjammers?. Im positive you could probably fulfil a NG person's needs with like two 2 slot or two 4 slots of the various games i mentioned. Atomiswave you gotta have MS 6 and Kof XI. MUST i tell you.

frequent fighting game tournaments would be awesome!!!!

Agreed, Virtua Fighter is by far the best 3D fighter ever made....yeah thats right Soul Calibur can't touch it.... As for arcades...I live in Ohio, so the word arcade is fairly non existent. However, your idea to have all the Bemani games is a good one, Rythm/Interactive games in arcades=$$$ got to have a DDR Supernova machine, only because it would make u a fortune. Atomiswave, I would definatly say MS6 and KOFXI.....both are badass. As far as Neo stuff, I would definatly go with the random stuff.....how many people have been to an arcade outside of CA or NY and seen a Neo cabby with something other then Strikers or Bust a Move in it??? I'd wager not too many. If u are indeed doing this, good luck, and if u want to succeed and make money, its all about DDR and such.....dont get me wrong, i love me some DDR, but its just sick how many people live for this game....

I really like the idea of opening up your own arcade, i think it would be cool if it was pimped out all stylish and fashionable And you had membership there. where you sold a bit of alchohol just so people could come in and relax but not :mad_2: get drunk and play some games just like a modern bar but with lotsof arcades and crap

Can't forget Street Fighter 3 Third Strike. D&D Shadow over Mysteria would be tight too, in a 4 player cab of course.

You can't have an arcade without light gun shooters. Time Crisis is good (all of 'em, and I always see them set at $1.00 and still attracting more people than other gun games), as well as things like LA Machineguns, etc.

And you MUST have Radiant Silvergun. (probably the only game where Jap/US matters. Get Jap.)

Replace one of those vs. capcom games (MSHvs.SF) with Street Fighter Alpha 3.

You need some Street Fighter Turbo or Alpha in there.

For the SNK games I'd go with:

*Atomis Wave - KoFXI and SamShoTenka

****MVS- SamShoZeroSpecial, KoF2k2

and 5 cabs dedicated to Kof95. The greatest SNK game that ever lives.

You have a lot of new stuff which is neat. But what about classics. Sure pac-man and nintendo may seem lame to have in an aracde, but they're really great addition to any arcade and will probably bring in many old schoolers. Also, I think maybe a Pump it up machine would be cool as well.
