Is there a way to adjust settings without it shutting off afterwards? That is pretty fucking lame.

Is there a way to exit your DS game to return to main menu without shutting off/restarting? That is pretty fucking lame.

Oh and is there a way to get back to main menu from Pictochat?

I believe (at least on Mario) if you press start, select, and the shoulder buttons, it takes it back to the title screen.

Sorry I can't answer your other questions.

Agreed. Like I said in my review, the cheap fuckers should have had a button to adjust brightness.

Shit, with PSP you can go to the main screen with the "home" button.

Oh well, at least you don't have to re-adjust the brightness every time you turn it on.
They don't make it very obvious how to adjust the brightness level either. I had to dig around the manual to figure it out.

This is the only real complaint I have about my Lite. Not that I need to change brightness that often, but it's definitely very inconvenient to have to shut down back to the main menu screen just to change brightness.

There really ought to have been another way. The Micro has the button combo, the SP has a dedicated screen button. So it's odd that Nintendo missed this on the Lite.

But they did so much right with the DS Lite, that I can't really complain too much - it's still a pretty minor thing in the end.
