Kirby Canvas Curse is still in my humble opinion, the best game on the system.

It's a truly unique gaming experience that's not to be missed.

The two Feel the Magic games are full of awesome minigame style enjoyment.

Brain Age isn't so much a game as it is an educational tool (of sorts...), but it actually really works and keeping your mind as sharp as possible is quite fun, so I'd toss that out there as a suggestion (there's Big Brain Academy too, but I haven't played that one.)

And am I the only one who really digs Super Princess Peach?

Its cuteness is enough to make a man sick... and it's not much of a challenge overall, but it is a rather nice Platformer and a fun ride until the end.

Animal Crossing : WW
Castlevania DS
Feel the Magic (it's just one of those "Different" games that defines a new gaming experience, the kind that might not be a megahit but is worth having there just for that feeling)
New Super Mario Bros.

No love for Zoo Keeper?!

Also, another nod for Advance Wars, Castlevania, and Metroid Pinball.

My favorite DS game is Contact. It is very import friendly and is about 20 hours long.

Other great games:

Castlevania DS
Mario Kart
Magnetica

Magnetica

I saw this at Best Buy yesterday, read the back and couldn't figure out how you play the game. So what do you do in Magnetica?

Also, Trauma Center, in the top 5 best handheld games ever...

Magnetica is a colored ball matching game based on the arcade game Puzz Loop. There are different shaped loops that different colored balls slowly move through. If they get to the end, the game ends. A colored ball shows up in the middle of the screen and you flick it with your stylus to match it up with a same colored ball. When three or more colors connect, they go away which causes a chain reaction.

It is very addicting and works perfectly with the stylus. I think that it is worth the $30 but I am sure that it will be $20 before too long. It also offers single card/two player play which is a lot of fun as well.

Any word on a U.S. release for Contact? Looks pretty cool, but I've been trying to cut back on game purchases lately, which makes $50 for a DS game a little steeper...

edit: nevermind, just answered my own question: 9-12-06. Damn, that's a ways off.

I'd buy the Konami Castlevania Double Pack

even though that's a GBA game

it's a must have, if like me, you skipped out on the GBA

Contact was suppose to come out in July (USA) that date has changed a couple of times now, with September being the new time frame. There is very little dialogue in the game and it is very import friendly, so I am unclear as to why they decided to wait. Anyway, it is a very good game that deserves to be picked up when it comes out. (There is a review at GameBrink if you want more information on it).

Yeah I second that. The double pack stays in my DS at all times.

the mario and luigi game is great.
get the one on gba too.
you won't need one before the other story wise at all.
they're fun, pretty goofy story wise, and doesn't
get too old like most rpgs do
