NOTE: I don't yet own any of these items, but I may buy one, I've just been reading about them recently so I'm just passing on what I found to you.

You need:

1) DS passcard or passkey
2) Flash cart

There's more options, like flashing your Ds firmware. Too tired to go into detail.

Good flashcarts are:

1) M3 - several flavors exist, using either CF, SD or MiniSD cards for storage

2) G6 Flash - excellent traditional cart with 512MB built-in

3) Supercard - uses SD or Mini-SD, not as good as M3 for GBA

4) EZ4 - uses Mini-SD

NEW flash carts coming this month for DS Lite (they don't stick out from the GBA slot) include:

1) EZ4 Lite

2) G6 Lite

3) M3 Lite

Here's a photo of the G6 Lite for example, looks like the Lite's GBA slot protector form the front. Pretty cool. Price is supposed to be around $40 - $60 or so.

So are we just talking about "T3H ROMZ" or are we into more of "T3H HAXOR5 DS G4M3S"? Either way it sounds cool, but it seems the PSP is easier to use (at least from what I hear).

No, I use TEH P1R4T3 R0MZ on both PSP and DS and believe me, it's much easier to do so on DS than on PSP. There was also much more compatible games on DS, but some days ago a new PSP loader has appeared that increases compatibility a lot.

Exactly. it's not like the DS games are that pricey. I buy them for like $40 CDN at the store. It's a far cry from the $70 those shitty ps2 and xbox games cost.

Know anything about using that thing for homebrew?

They SAY it can run the stuff, and they sell the "Media Player" cart by itself to use with other flash carts, so Im assuming it should just work like a passme I guess.

heres a quote from a review of that 4gb thingie:
Negatives

- No 1st party software to play any media at present
- Seemingly incomplete package
- Very limited homebrew support
- No support for backup ROM dumps
- Relies on MoonShell at present for any media playback
- Unjustifiably expensive for its capabilities right now
- Doesn’t live up to promises
- Other solutions on the market offer more for cheaper
- No indicator light on HDD to show when active/data transfer
- Hard drive buzzing when connected
- Poor technical support on the device

None of you have heard of the R4?

You see that this thread is over a year old right?

Way before any of the single card flash carts had come out.

Ban YOYO.

Yeah, but two people since posted. I was answering yo-yo.

iDog's post was like the most stupid thing ever posted on the intermatron ever, so I thought I'd help the guy out.

I've been saying it for ages.

Ban Yo-Yo Boy.

Just look at the Midwest Neo-Fans thread in Gatherings to see how awesome he is!

I had a DS-X and it was pretty dope. Pretty expensive but it worked well, drag and drop.
