Got mine from NeoGeo2k2 yesterday, and been playing the hell out of it.

I got the MK1 and IMO the screen is purrfect for the Neo emu.

I'm trying to encode some video files for it now.

I'm getting a MK2 very soon. What's a good, cheap-ish battery/charger combination that will let me play it on battery power for a good amount of time?

I just bought the Energizer 15min charger and it comes with 4 2200mah rechargeable batteries.

That's more than enough for me.

Normal batteries runs out after 15mins, lolz. This one is still running, and I think I've spent more than 4 hours already so it's all good.

Cool, 4 hours sounds good enough for me as it is, since the PDA I normally use for emulation gets 2 hours on its battery.

I hope people end up making a lot of original games for it. My PDA sort of spoiled me in that regard. Snails is an awesome original game, and there were a lot of other cool ones (like some of Naoki Ito's games, even though a lot of them are clones).

Kernow should get one and develop for it :). It is Linux after all.

Umm, you could always emulate Worms if you need your fix.

Speaking of which, how is PC emulation on it? I have some oldschool DOS games that I'd love to take with me on the go (Epic Pinball and Operation Carnage, among others).

If you go to Office Depot, they have 1GB SD cards for $39 and rechargables for $21.

VT, can you get videos working fine on it?

I got a 30secs video working fine, but when I tried to play a 4mins video, encoded with the same program, it just freezes at the Loading screen.

Most likely, you don't have the correct rom dump for this emu. Try some utility like romcenter.

Ray, Thanks for the hookup, it worked great!

For anyone using GnGeo, if you have really strange and garbled graphics, it's a BAD bios. Download the 480k one and you'll be fine.

I have a long flight tomorrow and SSVS will be spectacular...

How's SSVS on it?

BTW, I think it would be a good idea if we could post the proper sound rate/overclocking for every game so that they run fullspeed with sound.

I'll start...

Nightmare in the Dark - 11025, 240Mhz

I'll check my settings and post them before I board my flight. My stuff is in my briefcase. I tweaked them around and it runs very close to full speed.

Also a tip for everyone, download the dumpgfx for windows instead of letting the GP2x do it. Along with conserving battery power, it seems to be a more stable gfx dump. I noticed when the GP2x do it, it seemed a few times it did it wrong.

ALSO!!! Compusa has 2 in 1 packs of 1 Gig SD cards for 54.99 a pack, ending on the 17th. Not advertised, but when I was picking up an SD reader today I saw it.

Invest in an SD reader because it's about 5x faster than doing it through the unit or a PocketPC (I was stuck doing that until today.)

Yeah, if you flash it to firware 2.0, you have the option of which memory you present the PC with.

Get a reader for $9 from compusa, they have "thumb" drive versions which double as a flash memory stick... sweet!
