I never like the AOF series. I thought it was slow, stiff, and just poorly done.
I never played against more than two opponents in all 3 games.
Recently for whatever reason, I decided to play the games again via emulation. This time I played the games (1 & 2, still can't stand 3) all the way to the end. The games don't play like most Street-Fighter-clone fighting games (probably why I didn't like the series back in the day), you have to learn the mechanics to win in this game.
Once I figured out, and was able to adjust my fighting game habits to AOF's system I was hooked. I am now going to purchase AOF 1 & 2 for my Neo.
I also tried out the SFC port of AOF 2, and thought that was damn good for a SFC port. It made me wonder why Killer Instinct on the SNES couldn't have had bigger character sprites and scaling like AOF 2.
BTW, how is the PS2 port that recently came out? Is it a "Perfect-Port"? If it is, I might pick up the PS2 port.
