I had the thought of using the Saturn pad on the PSP and somehow using it through the USB port to play games through (ala Nomad). That way the PSP would set on my lap or the table and I would have a nice 6 buttons Sega Saturn pad. Anyone know or hear of anything like this being done or attempted?

Until someone alters the firmware, the USB on the PSP is data-transfer only.

Well, then what about a mod to let you use a Saturn d-pad on the PSP. I tried it out, but I would have to add some plastic to the underside of the d-pad and then find a reliable way of sticking it onto the existing d-pad. Any ideas on that one?

Pretty much what you said is all that needs to be done, back when the Night Warriors game came out, people were cutting up old NES sleeves to put on the DPad to get it to be more responsive.

It all depends on how far you want to go, really.

Buy the capcom d-pad. it makes the pad feel much more like a saturn pad (minus the buttons).
