All solved: a stupid black power wire went loose inside the IC cage.
Plugged it back in, sorted!

Hello;

I just received my Tekken 4 kit from ECL, and I'm kind of confused.
I dont know how to set the dip switches to play it on a low res cab.

It came with this I/O board too, so I suppose I dont need any special PSUs.

Right now I have:

Mobo ---> Data Cable ---> I/O
Mobo ---> Power Cable ---> I/O
Mobo ---> VGA ---> I/O
Mobo ---> Audio ---> I/O

Dip switches (they are upside down, like this):

ON
4 3 2 1
OFF

Anyone confirm this info? I just need to figure out the dip switches part!

I know what the dip switches do, but:

- is it supposed to be at 0.7v or 3v for 15khz (low res)?
- how long does it take for the game to load?
- why do I get a black screen and no audio?

Someone help :-(

If you get absolutely nothing, try disconnecting the data cable from the motherboard to the I/O board and see if anything comes up when you boot it. If it says "JVS not detected" or similar, it means that the board is working, but it may be having a problem reading the DVD.

Possibly a bad DVD drive, which means you have to get an EXACT replacement, or get extremely lucky and have one with the upgraded security dongle that allows any IDE DVD drive.

Mine was a bit touchy.... sometimes it never would load. Very rarely, but it happens.

All i get is a black screen and no sound.

I see the DVD rom drive reading, but it's not always the same 'pattern'.

The drive looks new to me, it's a samsung DVD drive - I suppose excellentcom replaced the old one.

I'll try again tomorrow morning!

Also, does anyone know how long does it take for the game to load and boot?
I waited 10mins and gave up...
