I'm pretty sure the Neo and Mame have been in devlopment for a while for this. This video does appear to show the game running at full speed though. Amazing if it is anything like the NGCD emu for the PSP.

Yeah, if its a fake video the guy should die.

I really want that GP2X to have some badass emulators on it...so I can get one.

Uh? Neo Geo emulation (cart, not CD) on GP2X is available since quite some time ago... At first there was rom size limitation but now it runs everything. I tried KOF 03 and it worked quite smooth, but the controls are terrible.

Cuz of the stick directional pad?

It runs 100% with sound?

I need more info! I would get one for this emu alone.

Yeah, the direction stick sucks. Sorry I only played for a few minutes in a loudy ambient so I couldn't notice the sound. You should look for more info indedicated GP2X sites.

I would buy it for myself too but owning a DS and a PSP I just can't justify it. And I'm considering buying a DS Lite too... :help:

Holy shit, now that's interesting!

Does it have features like Kawaks, mainly scanline?

GP2X is the shiznit, NEO MVS games are near fullspeed and VERY VERY playable, most of the smaller games, like puzzlers (including my favorites, NITD,MD3,PB, Zuppa) are fullspeed of course all with sound. Some systems overclock higher than others and it helps out alot. been playing MOTW and MS1-5 on the go as well. You can ask NeoGeo2K2 he checked it out over at my place as well.

I played it last night over at Sonox and
OMG! This system is really all that plus more..
MOTW and KOF 2k3 Played perfect, Sono said it was almost at full speed, but I didn't notice any difference at all..
SVC Chaos was also damn sweet.
The screen is super clean as well.
A must buy no doubt.

you can hook it up to the TV set too from what I've been told - and via the USB port, use a proper joystick with it too.

Yes, you can buy a cable (9€ here) to hook it to TV via s-video. No idea about using a separate controller.

Anyway these kinda defeat the portability.

EDIT: check this video with all the features, it has some neo geo at the end:

EDIT2: Looks like a new revision of the GP2X called MK2 is out with a different screen and improved stick. I'm really considering buying one instead of a Lite.

Any word on the availability of scanlines on the Neo emulator???

If there's one, I'm getting one ASAP.

the LCD on the MK1 model of the GP2X has scanlines, the new MK2 does not. It looks just like on an arcade monitor, accept smaller and portable :D

Would you say its MAME quality emulation [of the neo on the GP2X]?

I don't know what you are asking. There doesnt seem to be any filters running to "smooth" it out or anything, looks very nice on my system. I havent seen an MK2 screen in person so I can't comment on those, but I heard they are sharper. Everythng appears a bit pixelated, much sharper.

Crap, now I want one. Turf Masters and KOF 98 on the go, as well as the rest of the Neo library, that's sweet!

What's the battery life like on a GP2X?

I guess I'll sell a bunch of stuff over the summer to buy one and a big SD card if I want one bad enough.

So let me get this, on the MK1 the screen look just like the arcade monitor, or in term of emu, have scanlines filter on it?

And as for the MK2, the screen is much sharper, but there's no scanlines, and again, in term of emu, it's running without the scanlines filter?

PS: does the Neo emulator itself, GNGEO, has the scanline filter feature?

I would say about 90%+ for the majority of games, when overclocked to 280 everything will run at a minimum of 50fps and max 60fps.

The screen itself has scanlines, it is not a emulator filter. So it looks like an arcade monitor to me.

How about the emu itself, does it have scanline feature?

I'm afraid that if I buy the MK2 version, I'll be dissapointed later on to find out that the screen is like 'next gen' portables, just being so bright and all, whereas I want a screen just like an arcade monitor...
