I once traded an AES, Sam Sho 1-2 US for an Atari Jaguar and Tempest 2000.

Also traded a Neo CD system, mint in the box, and about 15 games for a Panasonic 3DO and a few games.

I was trying to upgrade to 32 bit....... what a dope.

I am sure there are worse stories than mine.

Damnn... now that's some catastrophic failure in trading right there. As for myself back when I was 16 I gave away a Genesis for two cases of Labatts. Dumb trade but I was desperate for some booze and I had a spare Genesis.

Back in 1998 when so excited was i by the release of metal slug 2 on neogeo cd that i traded in an aes game I had been equally excited about for a straight trade.
..............I traded in a mint US VERSION AES ULTIMATE 11 COMPLETE WHICH I BOUGHT FOR £125 ($200) WHICH INITSELF WAS A BARGAIN PRICE..........FOR A £65 ($100) METAL SLUG 2 NEO CD!

WITHIN 2 AND A HALF YEARS ON THIS BOARD FTL WAS OFFERING $1000 FOR A COPY OF THAT GAME AND METAL SLUG 2 NEO GEO CD TITLES......WITH THE INFLUX OF JAP SELLERS ON THE NEWLY UNIVERSAL INTERNET WERE A DIME A DOZEN.

I ALSO REGRET SELLING MY COLLECTION OF 70-80 AES CARTS TO ROT PHONG TE

I bought a Mutation Nation JPN from Dion for $75 (this is back when I had no idea what the price should have been), who took over 3 months to give it to me when I paid for fast shipping. Sad part is I wanted the US version. I ended up giving it away to one of the guys on the DHP list as a free gift when I sold Last Blade to him just to be nice. Ugh.

Oh, and PS: Mutation Nation sucks. This was ALSO back before I tried them on emulators before buying. Big mistake.

.... This is almost too embarressing(sp?) to tell. When I was about 18, I had an AES and Samurai Shodown 2. I traded it in at a Game Force game store in denver for an import copy of tobal No. 1 for psx..... I still kick myself for that one.

Please note, that was about 12 years ago. I was stupid at the time and was hooked on imports for a while. This was the same time when Bushido Blade and Castlevania SOTN first came out in japan. Although I wish I still had the AES, I am glad I got turned onto the MVS side of things as I can afford them alot easier. I have way more MVS carts now then I ever had for the AES. I wish I had the collection that 8man has, as that is one hell of a beautiful collection, but we all have different circumstances.

I can't say I've made any really stupid Neo trades/sales, but I do have some regrets. I sold my first AES plus English MS3 and JPN Real Bout to Shawn, which paid for my JPN modded Gamecube. Then a few years later I sold my second AES and all the carts I had, (most of em pretty worthless but still) just so I could get moved into an apartment. Most of my favorite Neo titles are crazy expensive on home cart, so I like to think I did myself a favor...but I miss my AES.

Ugh not Neo but I once gave up a minty Vectrex with the color overlays for a sealed import copy of Parasite Eve for Playstation. Ouch it still hurts.

Scored the Vectrex at a 2nd hand store for $5, had no idea what it was worth...

I sold my Nintendo collection of about 200 games that were boxed and complete and in near mint to mint condition to fund my Neo Geo journey.

Doesn't sound like a bad trade to me, unless you sold them for $50.

I sold them for $500 but didnt know the offer was shipping included which came out to about $85 alone. If I ebayed it I probably would have gotten more, alot more.

I paid $256 for a mint Skeleton Sega Saturn only for it to arrive non-working. I then paid another $40 to ship it back to Japan. After waiting about two weeks, I received a working Sega Saturn that has been in a smoker's home :crying:

I pawned a Gameboy Advance with a boxed Castlevania: HOD for $20 to get some trees :( Damn I still regret that one. Not neo-geo, but still noteworthy.

I sold a mint Strikers '45 kit. :( It wasn't a bad deal I got what it was worth...but man I'd sometimes like to have it in my cab. Oh well at least it went to a good ng.com member.

I've never really had a bad deal or trade. It is very rare that I let items leave my collection.

I gave away SS2, SS3, SS4 away for $50 bucks and I sold a 1 slot converted cab for less than $40. But I needed the money right away so I didn't really care.
