Does anyone even remember the days when it was called Evercrack? Has all the hype COMPLETELY died? Are all the servers ghost towns or are there still people who play? And is it finally safe to say, the addiction has died?

I'm sure everyone remembers the old news stories... and the parodies of the game. But now.. all you hear about is Final Fantasy XI Online or World of Warcraft. Has Everquest really sunk?

No there is the new proactive server that is bringing mnay old and new customers into the fold.

basically it is a new server that at first only has the first release and over time the expansions are realeased for it. It allows new people to fully enjoy each new expansion without feeling rushed by all the content. Servers are still decently populated but nothing like the old days.

Still a very fun game.

Wow really? That's awesome.

Last time I played.. sony was killing the game. They made it really easy for newbies and WAAAAAAYYYY too difficult for anyone over lvl 50.

Is it still like that? Or have they readjusted the difficulty?

I am not a an active player anymore but last time i played the difficulty balance was getting better. If you check out the fourms you will still see a million people complain but i have never seen a mmorpg forum without a ton of complainers.

I think EQ will be around a viable for many years to come. I do think EQ2 will still be taking some guys away from it. EQ2 from most reports is a game that has vastly improved from launch and continues to get better.
