well?

It doesnt really bother me like that, I'd probably walk into a doorframe and chip the corner like I did with my phat DS, if I had a DS Lite anyway.

I always just chuck it in my pocket or bag, and its in better nick than most "old" :tickled: DS's I've seen. so meh I want to get the full life out of it first.

mind you, the screen on RE1 is sometimes a bit too dark. sigh

maybe when UK launch comes around I'll get a lite but I'm in no rush at all

I'd be happy with my DS if it didn't have a few bad scratches on the bottom screen (long story), which forced me to put a cover on it to prevent it from getting worse, but it makes the screen look like ass.

I'll get a DS Lite sometime soon probably, but I don't see much of a point if your original DS is in good condition... That and mine was only $15.00, so I don't really mind.

Your DS was only $15? Was it a fallen-off-the-truck special?

Nah, my friend who was obsessed with DS, suddenly didn't care about it anymore and wanted a PSP, which lead him to sell his DS to me for $75 with 2 games, so I just consider it to have been $15. Everything was complete, and in pretty good condition.

He has since then bought another DS...

I haven't touched my original ds since I got the lite. It just seems so big and the screen looks so faded and dull compared with the lite.

I hate my old DS, and can't wait to retire it on June 11th.

OK, I don't actually hate it, but I do consider it ugly and the screens are dim and murky. So the Lite will be a big improvement.

Meh. My DS has fingerprints on the bottom screen and dust all over the top, but it does the trick perfect for me. I'm not going to upgrade to lite.

I sold mine and put a extra 40 bucks in to get the lite. Actually I bought 2. One for me and one for jenn.

Im using my busted up ds right now to play brain age and SMB. But I mean only a couple more weeks to go.

I won't use my fat DS much, but I can't sell it. I have almost every piece of Nintendo hardware, anyway :mr_t: Only a Game Boy Light away from all of the portables...

I've tried an import DS lite at a shop today and it's awesome, much more slick, small and cool. The screen is gorgeous too. I guess I'll finish buying it, I might import a US one. We'll see.

honestly? no.

lite pretty much makes the phat ds completely obsolete.
the only reason i'm still keeping it is for some occasional 2 player action.

I've been waiting for a revision since the first DS came out

I knew I'd:

A) get a better screen

B) smaller system with improved ergonomics

eat that kernhole

The DS was a slight improvement of the gba sp but not much. The system is just too bulky to hold with convenience and the SP screen is much brighter and more portable so having a revised version of the DS makes me want to actually praise the system for having some nice attributes.

HEY

If you wait another two years

They'll have a DS "Micro" or something

And you can miss out on another two years of DS gaming goodness.

Don't give in yet!

Yopu wouldn't want to do that, after all the DS will be toppled by the PSP any day now. Why, it's only selling 5 times as many units as the PSP in Japan, surely its fall is imminant!

I've been enjoying my DS Lite for months now. The 4 levels of brightness adjustment really helps on many games. :D

I <3 My PHAT ds! The ds lite looks sexy ill admit, but personally I think the ds lite (for me) would be a phat waste of money. The only game I played consistantly was CDOS.
I thought about buying one but i opted to go with a psp(sony can thank capcom for that :) And I gotta say The Psp owns the DS on many fronts imo. The PSP screen blows the ds away- The psp is capable of so much more as a multi media device where as the ds only plays games. Where is the pda software? And alot of people will say the Ds owns the psp in terms of games. IMO The ds games are overrated. Mainly the first party games. Mariokart was fun for a few hours and by that time i had beaten all the tracks and it just felt rushed. The same with metroid prime hunters It had the potential to be a great game but was just boreing. The single Player sucked And I played the multiplayer once while on the subway and it wasnt the quake 2 goodness I had anticipated. animal crossing just plain fucking sucks. Needless to say I was very bored with my ds and this is all my opinion. When i picked up Street fighter alpha 3 max And saw the game in widescreen with amazeing graphics I was blown away.Granted The controls sucked but im am getting good with the anolog nub:buttrock: . But After playing both systems I would have to say the psp could take on the ds with the right third party support (In defense of that one guy who stated this earlier in this thread) sony is just to arrogent.

But I am here to say that i love my PHAT ds and am eagerly awaiting CPOR and FF3.

Nah, sold my old one on ebay before I got the lite. Got the lite today and it blows away the old DS. That and I enjoy the new d-pad on the lite. All in all, paid around $30 to upgrade to a better screen so not a bad deal.

Sold it to my sister with a few games (just about covered the tax on my new dslite and gbm imported from jpn).
