i been wanting to get into the shooter(19XX/ikaruga) game for a long time now, but im not fond of candy cabs. i could be wrong but i remember my old dynamo street fighter II conversion had mounts for both vertical and horizontal positions. is that common for those old dynamos or has my years of alcohol abuse clouded my memory?

i guess the real question is are there any common standup cabs that would make a great shooter cab?:conf:

Pretty much any US style cab can have the monitor rotated. Standard frame mounting points are square for exactly this reason. You take the entire monitor out, and just put it back in rotated.

About the only cab I'm aware of that cannot be rotated is the Namco Cyberled, and thats only because the front housing/bezel isn't made to rotate.

ahh yes cept the cyberlead aint stand up is it :)
most decent modern uprights have the space and brackets to have the monitor flipped, most the time u can tell by looking at it.
Does it look the monitor is going to fit the wrong way up? then ya know :)

I've got what looks like either a playchoice or a punch out cab (nintendo dual monitor cab) that has at least a 25" monitor in it mounted vertically. I haven't had a chance yet to plug in a working shump to try it out, but it seems like it'd be great for shumps. For some reason, I just haven't switched out the Gal's Panic that it came with yet. :emb:

I have two dynamo cabs. One is horizontal with P.O.W. installed and the other is vertical with Sky Shark installed. They are identical in the way the cabinet is built.
