"The story of this PSP title will take place after Metal Gear Solid 3 (during 1970) and will be about the Big Boss' founding of Foxhound."
That's all i needed to hear. I'm psyched about the game already. Hopefully they'll have some screens or even a trailer at E3.

Wow, I haven't been excited about a MGS game since MGS2( before the actuall game pissed me off ), this whole "if a team mate dies he's gone for good" was part of teh charm i liked in FF Tactics and I'm glad it's a part of that in order to change things up a bit

Here's some talk about the trailer from E3 from someone at Gamespot...
"Oh man, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. I've been waiting for a real MGS on the PSP since the system came out. Trailer starts with scenes of the Boss from Snake Eater. Portable Ops is set in 1970, six years after that game. You're playing as Big Boss, who's defected from the Fox unit but has been charged with treason. You have to disarm the Fox members leading the resistance, and take out the, uh, ultimate enemy. Metal Gear?
All the characters you'd expect from Snake Eater are in here. It's talking about building a team of characters? Quick menu shows someting about recruiting Eva and Ocelot. "Recruit members and create an online Wi-Fi squadron." Must be the multiplayer mode. The graphics in this look really exceptional for a PSP game--nearly up there with the PS2.

"The tragedy of Big Boss. The missing link before the rise of Outer Heaven. Commence the inauguration of Foxhound."
