Just got Metal Slug X

Hey guys I just got this game and I played it for the first time ever and damn its pretty tight. I like how you pull out your knife when someone is next to you to kill them or freeing a hostage. I got to the point I think on the third stage where you keep climbing up and I past some vehicle I could have entered but accidently kept going and lost it. Well to cut it short it took me forever to kill that boss by jumping up one step at a time and shootin down everytime I jumped. Damn it was so funny, lol. Why was X not called 3? lol seems strange to me.

Basically this game kicks ass and I heard it gets better.

So its just an update to number 2 like SF2 was, yes it is the very first time I played it.

I think it had some additions and the slowdown were corrected i believe.

Awesome. This is probably my favorite metal slug after 3. I finally grabbed it off ebay again. Yay, I have an almost complete kit - no box. Oh well. Good luck on it.

Yep. MSX is MS2 without most of the annoying slowdown. Still, I like 2 better than X, but that's just me.

Metal Slug X is a great title and an excellent addition to any collection. Its definately one of my favorite Slugs. Definately a good pick up.

That's just harsh! Gives me a brain hemhorrage just trying to imagine it.

Good addition to your collection. Yeah, the tower boss is a pain in the ass, but it feels great when you finally shred him with the rocket launcher. That fight is probably the closest I've ever come to getting carpal tunnel.

So far my record beating it is 20 credits (2 player though), I'm going to shoot for fifteen (if I ever get my cab fixed :blow_top:

) and keep trying to go down five credits each time after.

Anyway, glad you finally got to enjoy the game, it's a constant companion in my 4 slot.

When I first got into the neo I wanted any game I could get (quantity),
sold all the shit and bought a full slug set (quality). I wouldn't ditch my
slugs for anything in the world. GOD BLESS MY AES! :buttrock:

Honestely I was going to purchase metal slug x for neo geo aes, but there is no need to, because the games is pretty similar for the japanese playstation version, so I would recomend to anyone that if u are planning to waste 600 to 800 dollars for this games, it is just a waste get the one for the japanese playstation it will play the same as the neo geo version, guarantee. see ya suckazzzz

Yeah, and a she-male prostitute is pretty similar to a real female :oh_no:

Metal Slug X on the PSX suffers from horrific frame rate, substandard slowdown, a watered down color scheme and a slew of other minutae that make it a tolerable port but far from a substitute for the real thing. An authentic MVS cart can be had for less than $60 and any Neo Geo fan must play this game in its original format to do it justice. Along with the original, this is my favorite Slug and arguably in the top 10 of not only my Neo Geo games list but all-time video game choices.

Word. Nothing beats the real thing. MVS carts are cheap and worth the price if you don't want to deal with the quirks that you find in the ports. :cool:

I never said this game is the same as the neo geo version, I said is pretty similar,
anyways, you can buy either the mvs cart, or the japanese version, they both play the same, but of course are not graphical the same, but close, only the mvs cart is the original arcade, but other than that ms x for playstation is not too far away from it. and either version will cost u, less than 50 dollars............see ya suckazzzzzzzzzzzz

all you need to do now is beat it on 1 credit and you'll be straight.

I've been trying to do it for at least 2 years, the farthest I've gotten is the beginning of level 5
