Just got a super cheap "broken" AES, I had to replace the voltage regulator since it was broken but after I did it powered up and the graphics are clear BUT are pink, I did replace the 3.57mhz crystal and still the same. I did notice that it is missing the cap by the LSPC2? chip, what value cap is that?

The missing cap is the same as the majority of the other similar ones on the board: 104's, 100000pF = 10nF I think...Hope this helps

I go along with that, but its not likely to be the problem imho.

It is more likely something to do with the rgb DAC resistance ladder arrays, there is an interesting thread on it here. Thanks to MKL and others who contrbuted.

You replaced the 2576-5?

There is a 2576-5 on those AES that use the 10v (or 9, 11, 12...) power supply. The regulator converts this voltage into 5v. It's more powerful than a 7805 and requires a few external components. It's the only VR I know of on AES systems.

Thanks for clearing that voltage regulator question up MKL.

A pink picture ? is that pink or violet (no green from the RGB) only red and blue.

Is there any green at all ??

Slap some Hello Kitty stickers on it and put it up on ebay.

Good point dude. I gotta check when I get home and maybe replace some resistors.
