The key to making all 4:3 standard resolution arcade games look great is RGB inputs. In fact, it makes it too easy. It takes real effort to make them look just about as good on an HD monitor with component inputs.

I have a question myself about this, I'm using a 29 inch 4:3 real flatscreen 100hz philips with RGB.

Everything looks pretty awesome on it, but if playing on a hd lcd/plasma will I still have scanlines with RGB or component?

Screw TV. Invest in a projector and enjoy the big screen.

You know, I have a couple of projectors and playing Neo on them isn't very good. Why? Because blowing up low res graphics just makes things super ugly and blocky. And that's running through RGB. Imagine svideo or even composite... yuck. So there's such thing as too big...

Probably the best way to get a great picture cheap (in the US) is a commodore 1084 rgb monitor. Monitors are much cheaper than even the crappiest tv and they give an amazing picture.

MKL made me a cable to connect my neo directly to the monitor and I was off and rolling. The only draw back is that it is on 13" but I negate this by sitting really close to the monitor, just as you would an arcade monitor.

DOes anyone have a neo geo mvs system running componont on a huge tv?
My Plasma is 42" it's widescreen but put into cinema format it fills the screen by cutting a small edge from top and bottom, energy bars in fighting games are just a bit below the top and is perfectly playable. The graphics may look more blocky in some games such as WW7 but MOTW looks so smooth and colorfull. It looks better with s-vid than with component on a CRT set, and I actually prefer to use s-vid as long as you use the special videoboard that Jeff Kurtz builds. I have been wanting to test it on a projector though...

I just got a 27 inch sony vega flat screen tv and will have my mega modded neo soon. Will the picture look good with the neo hooked up to it?
I've used component on my 32'' SONY VEGA and it looks pretty good although not as bright and colerful as the plasma, but close enough to any cab RGB screen I've seen.

Low rez images tend to look worse on a LCD/Plasma screen. It looks like the image is not interlaced so you get pixelated images compared to CRTs. I've witnessed this using Component inputs.

Hmm, I have a question. My TV's a Panasonic wide screen but also has 4:3. Most consoles allow me to use 4:3 with RGB, but my Sega Saturn automatically goes in wide screen. Now, I've never used a Neo with the RGB scart lead before. Is there a chance it might do the same?
