Color question

What color should I do this gold part in? I'm making this my third strike machine (ignore the buttons, I'm having the rest drilled).... I'd like to do a green theme since the third strike marquee is also green. Should I paint the gold green? Do it all black? Leave it just gold? I'm going to do green buttons and sticks, too. Would that be gay looking or what? Any opinions here? If they made gold buttons, I'd just do that instead. lol

What's really odd is I was thinking "green" before I even read your post.

I think the gold areas would look great in green.

Looks like some crazy modded atomiswave, but I cannot be sure. The control panel is 100% homemade by Ringo C, but as for the rest? Not sure. The monitor is dual rez, so maybe atomiswave? Naomi? Don't know.

So green with green buttons and a green marquee? After seeing Chris's post of his arcade room, I'm jealous. Loved the blue "big red".... so I thought I'd do something a bit different as well.

Yeah, but I've already got that in two other cabs (both capcom). Super Turbo and MvsC2. I need something that's strange. Unique... something that people will say "I've never seen that before, but I love it"

I'd go with green. Same green used in the KOF XI logo. Make it smooth and glossy, will look ACE!

If you're not on a budget and you want to make it look GREAT, I would also suggest:

- white competition pushbuttons
- happ optical "perfect 360" base with SLIKSTIK.COM 'peartops' or 'balltops'. They make an excellent replacement handle with custom pear/balltops in various colors.

For your setup, I think stainless steel would look SWEET.

I ---- highly --- recommend the happ optical 'perfect 360' bases. No microswitches = no moving parts = will last forever. I never get a single move wrong with these puppies :-)

I believe that's a US Naomi cabinet. Virtual Tennis came in a cabinet like this. The gold area is normally blue. I'll see if I can find a picture or two of the one I have.
