For owners of the JPN PSP-1000 series. The new features to be added are Flash 6 and AAC support. Other features include a fix for the 2GB memory card glitch, RSS channel settings, L and R button support for UMD movie playback, and some new network settings options.

Nothing major, but hey I'll get it.

The glitch messes with the photo folder in regards to sharing and something to do with bookmarking internet pages and downloading items using the browser from what I can gather. This depends on your firmware though, I think it only affects 2.60 users. It's something to do with the PSP not being a high-speed device, which the 2GB card is designed for.

Just to add that there will be a downloadable demo of LocoRoco alongside the system update.

The demo is available for JPN PSPs only however, same as the firmware.

sweet.

btw J0e, i forgot...you have a jpn psp too, right?

also, about the photo send...i did that with a friend recently, and we both have ver 2.60, but there seemed to be no problem with my 2gig card afterwards, so thank god the update is soon and nothing happened before...i hope.

The firmware was released worldwide and I'm updating as we speak.

Has anyone tried the Loco Roco demo yet?

I'm not sure if it'll work on American PSPs, but you can get it from here.

That's the only reason why I'm rushing to upgrade, the game looks promising. I was reading the Gamespot preview and you actually control the planet, not the little blob thing. It doesn't change the gameplay, but it makes it more interesting.

EDIT: Put the eboot in a folder called "UCJS10041" inside the GAME folder in the memory stick.

The demo is awesome. Took me a while to get used to controls, but it's really fun to play, if a bit frustrating. The music is quite catchy as well.

played the demo, it rocks.

Demo also works on all psp units (JPN/USA/EUR). As well the 2.7 firmware has been released for all regions.

Yup, played the demo... to be honest i am a tad disapointed, it s not puzzle-enough to me. I mean, the fact to be fat or exploded doesn t play any role in the level completion, just adds to bonuses.

At least that s the way i see the game through the demo.

The firmware update i really don t care, just updated because anyway i ll be forced to for new games to come.

Wow. AAC support? I shouldn't expect to see iTMS DRM'ed files to be compatible on the PSP anytime soon... but this is one more reason for me to buy a PSP. :chimp:

I disagree.

For one, it doesn't feel like a puzzle game, it's more of a platformer with different/weird controls.

Being big or small basically changes your jump and the small ones are better at jumping farther. The payoff is that you have to manage all of them simultaneously while they're separate and, while this may be easy when there are 3-4 of them, it gets really hard when there are more than ten and some of them start falling in places you don't want them to. It's not really a "bonus" because you are required to split up to advance and to get some of the rarer fruits.

Speaking of which, have you tried getting all the fruits in the stage?

It's really challenging, and it's not just the "where are they?" factor.

If this game has 20 or so stages, I can see myself playing it for a really long time just trying to get every last one of them.

It won't matter if we don't because the PSP is region free.

Well looking at the new prx in the firmware. It looks like video camera support has been added.

I know, it would be nice to be able to understand the text on the screen, but I would definitely import it if it weren't.
