I was curious if there is any down side to building a supergun out of a metal case, I wanna get this off ebay but not sure if its worth it. The only thing I see had is its setup for sf2 controller setup and not neo geo, but I would use this mostly for other jamma boards that my neo.

Shouldn't be a problem...

Just to make sure you secure everything so there are no shorts.

Or you could just build a Controller out of the CP and wire it to a more standard looking SG.

Metal is the way to go for superguns with a PSU inside but the wiring, esp. the AC lines, must be a professional job and the case itself must be grounded (earth ground).

As for that CP, I don't think it's suitable for a supergun (or even a joystick) project. Covering the back won't be easy and the base is slanted.

thats a capcom panel, trust me, youll have a HARD time covering all that empty space, the panel is very big and unsuitably shaped...

i suggest a panel from just about any candy cab as theyre pretty well enclosed from start and all the giblets can be easily mounted inside.

i know cosmicoo sell used panels for not much money, ask them :)

That's actually from a Dynamo cabinet. As sven and a couple of others had pointed out, it's a very unusual shape and probably wouldn't make a great SG. The control panels that I think would make an ideal Super Gun box are the Mortal Kombat control panels.

The whole control panel box portion detaches from the cabinet and can easily house everything. Other advantages include having a flat bottom suitable for using it as a base and being able to lift the control panel for easy access.

...it's got a slanted angle to it......you can probably find a sexier case for it locally..( i use a naomi shell to make a SG..ongoing project been doing it since last year:emb: )

The MK control box actually is straight and lays perfectly flat. The angle is on the control panel portion. That's funny you mentioned a Naomi shell since I was originally going to suggest that but decided against it since it's a lot harder to find one versus a MK, MKII, MK3, etc. I have both control panel boxes and will try to snap a few pictures of them in the next couple of days.

Thanks, I first had that thought then I thought to make a built in mvs system in it and so I could take it around but then the stand idea came, I think I will do what you said norton because I thought about how I would make a stand out of it and just closing it up will be easier. plus I sorta wanna keep it small.
