hi all-

i'm thinking of getting a supergun and have seen several that i need recommendations on. The following are the superguns i have looked into. the supergun by mas systems, supergun by great western trading, superguns by D lite, supergun by arcadekingdom.com(they have an auction on ebay.) If any one owns any of the above superguns, please give me your opinion of them and their pros and cons. I just can't figure out which one to buy. I'm looking for good picture quality, sound quality, and ease of use(i'm new to this kind of stuff). Also, is it possible to convert a sega saturn controller to work with one of these superguns? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I am in the same boat, and the decision I made is that, appart from getting a cabinet when I have a good chance for it, I will go for a Sigma supergun, I am not sure if it will be the Sigma Raijin or the AV 7000, those are ones of the best superguns out there :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

i have an AV7000, and provided you aren't fussed about buying a second arcade stick (as they cost a bomb), they are great pieces of kit.

I have a Sigma AV5000, not bad for the £120 it cost me.

jpj, your wiring looks a bit messy.

So is mine as you can see from the pic, it kinder looks like some of your wires have come off above where they go into the Sigma via the finger board?

another recommendation for the smaller-type Sigma superguns here. I own an AV5000 and AV7000.

they're compact, have good joysticks if you prefer Jpn. style controls, and has high compatibility with a variety of games, due to the adjustable voltage on the units.

however they're also very expensive (like $300+ for the AV7000 with cables and one joystick), and its primarily available only from Japan, so shipping one won't be cheap either.

btw- only the older models of the "AV" superguns (ex: 5000 and 6000) have DB-15 ports for the controllers, which are the same kind of ports used in the Neo Geo home systems/MVS motherboards.

the last model, the "AV7000", has a DIN-13 input for controllers. you can modify a cable to convert that into a DB-15 though.
