Brain Age came out a couple days ago, and I picked it up for the $20 price tag. Who else is training their brain? Pretty neat so far, my current brain age is 33 I believe. I am new to Sudoko and have been having lots of fun with it as well.

I'm picking it up after work today.

I'm sure my brain age is around 40. :kekeke:

I love the game. My brain age is 30 and I've finished the first page of the basic sudoku puzzles. Very very addictive game.

Want to get my mother into playing this, hopefully the games/instructions are easy to read and follow.

I don't have a DS but picked up this game at $20 anyways. Will buy a DS Lite just for this game.

I bought the Japanese version when it came out, played it religiously for a week, then burnt out on it. Picked it up again a few months later, played it everyday for a week, and then burnt out on it again.

It's an easy game to get tired of, at first its lots of fun, but then it starts becoming something more like work.

That being said, it did wonders for my math skills. I didn't become "smarter" and my memory didn't improve vastly or noticeably, but my math abilities really benefited.

It's good, but I really recommend using it in moderation - if you try and play it everyday you'll more than likely get sick of it.

My boss gave me a paperback edition of advanced Sudoku puzzles, and I must say, I really don't enjoy these puzzles. It didn't pull me in when I started on the puzzle, and by the time I completed it I was eager to put the book down in order to engage my attention on something else, like watch a good horror movie or such on a succulent nipple. I understand that's the hook for the game though, and I know just how much of an International phenomenon Sudoku has become, but it just isn't my cuppa :emb:

I should be getting it from Gamefly in a couple of days. Can't go wrong for used price + 5% off + $5 off coupon + free shipping for a new game for only a few extra days wait.

I bought it today at Fry's.

So far, I've run through the training session once, and I got a brain age of 48! :mr_t: It was probably that wacky "say the color" section that killed me. By the later half of it, my brain blew a fuse and I got a bunch of them wrong.

I'm pretty good at the sudoku puzzles, though. Once you understand the concept of how it works, it gets addictive.

That part screwed me too but only because it didn't understand me when I said "blue". I must have a stealth lisp or something :spock:

Yeah, when I first got it, my brain age was 60 :( I think it was because it didnt hear me correctly several times. After a couple days of training Im at 33. Very fun game and original premise. Definately worth 20 bucks! :)

I play every morning too. The Dr. seems to be disappointed in me when I do worse than the previous day. The Head Count exercise drives me nuts.

This game is just packed full of easter-eggs like saying "Glasses" at the title screen. I can't wait to see what happens after weeks/months of play...if I stick with it for that long. Current brain age: 40

If you like Sudoku I recommend Picture Puzzle for NGPC, it's pretty much like Sudoku with pictures.

Same deal here. Every time I said blue it wouldn't pick it up. I had to say it in a high pitched voice to get the game to recognise it.

I'd have to disagree, I don't think they are are very related at all. Although I do enjoy that type of puzzle game a lot.

My current brain age is now 27.

I downloaded the demo today at GameCrazy and took the DS home with me. My brother, my girlfriend, and I all thought it was cool. Even my mom was playing the demo! I think at $20 I will get it once I get some money.

Though I kinda had to say "BLUUUUUUUUUUUE" to get it to pick up on it. And I don't even have a DS Lite.

I think I'll try saying "brew" instead of "blue" and see if that helps. :smirk:

I started out with a brain age of 37 and having played it for four days am now down to 32.

Honestly, if you read the instructions you're only supposed to play it for max 20 minutes a day.

I picked it up this weekend at Fry's. I really like it, I'm up to brain age 35. I can see playing this for 20 minutes everyday. Neat idea for a game.

I should have read this thread earlier! :)

I got it last night and when I first tried it, I got 80! I just couldn't get "Blue" to work: "Blue!", "Bloooo!", "Bah-looo", "Buh-looo", "bloo" (fast), "bloo" (slow), trying all sorts of accents I could muster. :blow_top: Once I yelled Blue when it was the word "Blue" written in "black" and it took it... :loco: I was starting to wonder if some weird franco-ontarien accent-thing was creeping out. I wasn't saying "Bleu" maybe after a while it sounded like "BLUE! BLUE! BL-tabarnacle-d'estie-callisse-de-cochenerie-mal-sale-OO!! BLUE!!! BLOO!!!!!!". :P

After that I vowed not to use the speech recognition. After a try with the "I can't speak freely" section, I managed to get 23, which I guess isn't bad, but it didn't record it since it only allows it once a day. Mind you, I guess I could have just restarted a new user then, it's not like I had played for long. :P

Anyway, I tried it when I got up this morning (and still a little groggy). I managed to get 32.
Heck, didn't even get a huge "HEY! You impoved by 48 points! Holy crap!" message from the doctor.

My first attempt at Sudoku confused me as well. I started the first puzzle, and finished the first row and first column of squares. I was in the middle of doing the middle square when it just stopped and told me I cleared it? Was it because I've reached a point when there was only one possible solution for each square? If so, I'd still like to be able to complete the whole thing myself at least once in a while.

All in all, it might be interesting to play a bit every day, granted my fiancee is bored with it and wants Tetris back in there. :P

FIrst time I played it today I got a bunch of stuff wrong making stupid mistakes, and had trouble getting it to recognize "blue" too. I found that saying blah-Ooo makes it register.

That section with memorizing the words and then writing them is getting me too. I'm not good at memorizing, and keeps thinking my "Y"s are "X". It stalls for time and then I forget some of the words.

Well, it said my brain age was the 80s apparently because they couldn't recognize me saying "blue." After I figured out how to select which brain age exercises to do (hold select button and choose daily training), I've got myself up to a fit 26.

If I do the tests with multiply X20, memorization, and "blue" I get like 40s.

What tests do people find difficult?I find memorization, head count to be very difficult, while the other ones are easy or mid-level. I got 2 head counts right, and they said I performed @ car speed lol.
