i get the video is VGA only, and sound is proboably just to plug in.. but what about the controls???

I believe its JVS (same as Naomi). So you'd need an I/O board it you wanted to play on a jamma cab.

Hi !

I have two Taito Type X Systems with 3 games (Raiden 3, Gigawing Generations, Homura).

You can connect the system driectly to a naomi cab, so its the same connection type called JVS.
You can use a Naomi i/o board to connect the system to a normal jamma cab.

Games are running in 15 khz and 31 khz (forget the 15 khz mode, its disgusting).

You can change he games very easily (just unplug the usb stick and the hd).

I am very satisfied with the system.

Greetings

As a former proud owner of Type X I can second that reccomendation.

The game software is fairly cheap $100-$300

And the hardware is decent but its hard to get your hands on.

Just wish there were more games in the pipeline.

Arcade systems that utilize harddisks are bad news imo. :annoyed: Though I'd still like to get a Type X for Chaos Breaker. :drool_2:

I'm assuming the OS is on the drive as well as the game, otherwise why distribute the game on the harddrive? And if this is so, I wonder if you can simply build a home pc to Type-X specs (cpu/memory/graphics card/sound chipset) and plug in the drive + fob and play it?

I'm really interested in getting a Type-X and taking it apart for this very reason. There has to be a way or something special you can change. As well is it theoreticaly posible to turn a type-x into a windows or linux pc for arcade.
