Get Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Those are really the only 2 that I can recommend

If you can find Riviera: The Promised Land, grab it. Not only is it kinda rare, but it's also very good :)

Both Tactics Ogre and Rivera are not available in the UK thuggles so you'd have to get them off t'bay or from a US seller..

Golden Sun 1+2 are ace, FFTA is cool, BoF 1 and 2 are good too.

I've not seen or heard of a Chrono Cross double pack, I assume you maybe mean castlevania?

FFTA and FFIV are probably the best games I have played for the GBA.

I highly reccomend the Mario&Luigi game. Extremely fun and well written. The combat never gets boring because they've got a system like Paper Mario where precise button timing determines how much damage you do with an attack. It almost feels like an action RPG at times.

And damn, it looks really nice on a GBA micro :tickled:

Harvestmoon: More Friends of Mineral Town

WTF?

Why are you suggesting BOTH Harvest Moon games, when they're the exact same with the exception of playing a girl?

All the mentioned are great, and extra emphasis for Advance Wars 2, and the Fire Emblem games, excellence indeed! FF Tactics is great if you have some friends to play against, otherwise the game is rediculously easy. It's fun to do time contests with friends with FF tactics, like we all agree to play 5 hours and then play it out and see who assembled the best team in the time constraint.

Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis

TO is the best turn based strategy series if you want a swords and sorcery type feel.

Now if only we'd get a true sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics....

double-u tee eff
I was just about to make this thread.

Anyways, even though it's simple, I dig Onimusha Tactics. If only for the Onimusha setting and stuff; it's fun.

Yeah, Onimusha Tactics is quite enjoyable, and you can often find it cheap. It is flawed - the AI is particularly weak - but you kind of don't really care.

Personally, I'd recommend against the two NES Zeldas, they don't really stand up well in my opinion. But if you want to buy my copy of the first one give me a shout. :) Shawn seems to have missed Link to the Past out of his list, though.

There are actually 3 GBA Fire Emblems, but the first one was only released in Japan.

Other stuff not yet mentioned:

Phantasy Star Collection
Eye of the Beholder
Pokemon

I think that's about twice as much as me, and I've had it for years. In fact, my problem, when I get back to it, is going to be remembering what I'm supposed to be doing.

That's my prob with RPGs as a whole -- took a few months off from FFIV, booted it up again and wandered aimlessly on the airship, wondering what I'm supposed to do.

My guess is that that little girlfriend of yours left you about eight or nine hours into that 25-hour period.

Am I right? Or is she well-trained?
