Thinking about picking up a CrazyTaxi stand-up. Anyone know whats required to also play InitialD on the same machine, or is there another game that would be a better fit to swap with?

Good luck! I've been searching for the stand up version and they don't appear to be that common. I've found plenty of sit down units but the few uprights I've found, people want more for money for them compared to the sit down units. I'm not too familiar with the Naomi set up so I can't comment on what you need to make Initial D work. I believe that Initial D uses the GD-ROM so you'll have to have the GD-ROM drive for starters.

Yeah, Ive seen the sit-down ver. for around $2k. Ive never even seen the stand-up version for sale anywhere:conf: .

I know that InitialD is Naomi2 software, but I was wondering if the steering wheel, pedals, and shifter were Plug and play

stuffmonger lives really close to me, but he doent have any games for the cab ATM.
I have a sit-down SegaTouringCar twin that's taking up all my space:crying:

I don't have a Naomi 2, but in order for Naomi 1 games to be compatible with the Naomi 2 hardware it would require the ports to be identical.

The pedals and steering are all analog and connect to the Naomi's analog connector. I don't remember if the drive/reverse is digital or analog, but it's probably digital. If you need the pinouts for the analog or digital connections I have them on my other pc. It is possible for you to build your own controls for Crazy Taxi if you can find the cart. I've been searching for a while for a bare cart though....

The only time I have ever seen one of those crazy taxi cabs is at the Disney Paradise Hotel. I know this is useless info for you, but it's slow at work right now. I was looking for a World Series Baseball stand up, but I realized it was way out of my budget.

there where three crazi taxis for sale at the auction this past weekend. I wish I could have gotten them, but they where way out of my budget. Two of the crazi taxis where the american standups, and one was some bootleg/crap cab without a brake pedal (which still went for $1k+). They also sold off a gigawing cab, but I already had 19 cabs to fill the trucks and trailer (twice), so I skipped out :(

yup! and buyers premium with taxes is close to 22% of the selling price
