i think i prefer the ds's button start

Not at all.

The power switch on the Lites are similar to the ones on the PSPs.

Oh yeah, and it doesn't come with the silly thumbnub/wriststrap.

No places to put them,either.

Nope, no hassle.

In fact today I tried to just push it up slightly but it won't turn off, you gotta push it all the way up completely. :D

It does come with a wrist strap though, but there is no thumb nub on it.

Did anyone ever use those thumb nub things??

Yeah I remember many a time on the original ds where I would rush to pause the game and accidentally hit the power button. With the DS-Lite that will never happen again.

One time a few of us got together at lunch for a Mario Kart session, and one of the females playing for the first time had very long nails. Her left thumb nail would actually hit the power button and turn turn the DS off during normal play on the D pad  No longer an issue for her on the Lite.

I tried using the thumb nub on MPH, and it didn't work out too well.
