arcade screen!! cloudy!!

ok, so i have a chance of buying a neo arcade. it comes with 4 games, burning fighter, puzzle bobble, blues journey and another on a 6 board. so i went to see it today and it seems in ok condition. costing sround £100.00, v.cheap. only thing that is of concern is the screen.

the screen seems cloudy in the middle, seems ok at the sides though about 1 inch in all the way around, then the inside of that inch is al kind of cloudy/blurry. there is somesort of perspex cover and then the monitor (obviously you already know this) and it seems to be that its just some dirt behind the screen as it is in a chip shop that also allows smoking.

just wanted to know if it is a problem with the monitor or if it could be just the perspex screen, if any of you have experienced this. i know you cant see the arcade, so dont point that out to me.

could just be a ton of old dirt and soot, you woul be amazed looking at what comes off the monitor when cleaning it the first time. But it sounds like it might be something else in conjunction with the dirt.. maybe the monitor isnt properly tuned or a harness is loose, or the monitor is on the way out. No real way to tell but if its in pretty good shape the cabinet and unit, for the price i'd say go for it. Monitors can be repaired or even replaced without a HUGE investment.

If your at the location and able to access the monitor...

Check the back of the monitor for 2 knobs (pots) one says Focus and the other screen. Turn the focus pot around to see if this clears that up.
