Those of you planning on 'upgrading' to the DS LITE

you realize your friend codes will be different ... right?
i guess this is no big deal to some people ... but for instance, i'm so desperate to play TETRIS i'm about to buy a regular DS --- then i realized none of my stats or rankings will carry over when i buy the DS LITE.

I thought the friend code is unique to each game cart not the DS itself?

i thought it was a combination of the two.
someone with a DS or two, figure it out.

Yep it asks if you want to update your info, and you cant connect unless you do. So yeah your screwed.

I thought you could transfer your WFC ID? I remember there seemed to be such an option on the DS to perform this, if you have 2 DSes, you can take a cartridge like Mario Kart, select 'transfer WFC ID,' and this will perform the transfer.

Yes bok I just checked it out. Its in the wifi options after you enter the game.

When I got my Lite I had to re-register it with my PC and the Nintendo WiFi software, but I don't think my friend code changed.

Then again, I haven't played any friends on it yet so don't know. May check later. It is charging now after a healthy session of MK WiFi last night and some Children of Mana this morning.

Just checked, and my Mario Kart friend code did change when I switched to my DS Lite.

All my stats remained the same though.
