The R7 is a very limited edition (2000c.) of the Dreamcast. It's black with "Regulation7" written in gold. Originally, this DC was a prize for pachinko players in Japan.

hehe ....

hello kitty rare ?
sorry , but that is crap

most rare dc are ( not in any specific order) :

Biohazard S.T.A.R.S Dreamcast (200units)
Mazora Dreamcast (unknown)
R7 first Run production ONLY!.

see only the first run of the R7 were used as prices ( said that onyl 50 units exist) for pachinko player.
but the one you see here is a re-production that was only for sale in japan through the d-dirct store ( sega online store in japan), it cost 9800yen.

the first run R7 cost in japan about 1000$-1500$ , if you find one ! )

also , the first run R7 was delivered with some extras that are missing in the re-production ( goodies , ect).

take care

Dc's such a lame system. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings but, hey, even a Neo Pocket kicks the hell out of it.

Hello Kitty DC is NOT crap !!
A friend of mine, wholesaler who often goes in Japan, confirms it's a rare item, especially the blue version.

I don't know all the details about this re-production story but, in France, you can't find a used R7 for less than $320/330.

Mr.Tadaima, do you know anything about videogames ?
how can you say the DC is a "lame system" !!?? This system is architectured as a real arcade quality hardware with a lot of RAM. You can't say the same about the PS2 and GC...
The DC/Naomi and all its typically "arcade quality games", in graphics and playability as well (F355; DaytonaUSA; MarvelVSCapcom2; VirtualOn2; GigaWing2; ZeroGunner2 Soulcalibur; etc...)
Isn't this feeling to have arcade quality at home one of the reasons we love the neo-geo ?

You, sir, are not a true gamer. No true gamer would call the DC "lame."

You're not going to fit in very well around here Frenchy.

Sorry Dschan, but I have to interrupt!

The most rare Dreamcast is in fact the original R7 model. 70 units were produced, but they were not given away as prices - it's not a present campaign item!

The reproduction from 2001 was not only sold through the d-direct store. "Normal" shops/distributors/retailers did also sell it.

The Mazora DC was made 500 times. But only 200 units are signed by the Mazora president..

For true collectors the 2001 Regulations 7 model is truely crap. It's bullshit like other items which have been reproduced and altered in the past (the Final Fantasy IV/V/VI Piano Collections for example).

shousa

Dscho !

so it is true that the first run R7 was used as an internet portal at the HQ of a pachinko company ?

imo the R7 re-production was only sold through the d-direct store , maybe some shops ordered them there and sold them seperatly in their stores .

You're truly mistaken on your facts on this one. The rarest Dreamcast is the Dark Purple Biohazard, not the R7, which is rare in itself.

If no one is offering to "buy" I don't see the necessity to downgrade a seller's item unless he's a bad trader. You should let it be the judgment of the buyer if the item is crap, which I think is each person's own opinion for this matter. FYI, most collector's Dreamcast systems are "altered" so you must be referring to every DC Coll's piece as crap.

Bottom line is, if you're not buying just keep your mouth shut. Don't make a seller's item look bad, especially if you have no clue of what it is. For those who posted what the R7 is, you're all guessing.

DC is an excellent system, one of the very best. Which makes you a moron and an idiot when it comes to recognizing good games . . .

I have to agree with Vinh (Treuminator) on this one. If you dont want it dont buy it but leave the guy in peace to sell his items. If you want to discuss the rarety take it to unrelated where it belongs.

As for the Joker saying the DC sucks I have one in every room of the house and a Naomi

AnTi, shousa, what's your business here, always driveling on the same things ?

I haven't tried to swindle anyone when I said the R7 was a rare item.
Original or reproduction, I maintain the R7 IS a very uncommon and rare one, and it has nothing to do with the price I expect to sell it.
I haven't invented anything:
First, in every videogames magazines (September2000), you could read Sega Japan had re-produced 2000 DC R7 on the occasion of Shenmue2's release, which is a limited quantity. In comparison, the Seaman, Hello Kitty and Sakura Wars editions were produced in much greater quantity (1800 BioHazard DC exist).
Besides, you say the reproduction of the R7 is crap, without knowing even a new regular DC is tough to find in Japan right now...

The R7 I sell is brandnew. I don't know if it's one of the 2000 reproduced or not (there is no year, no sign anywhere), but I've just discovered the boot-CD work perfectly on it (The CD-R haven't worked on jpn DC since the end of 2000's run).

Hey shousa, is the MetalSlug3 reproduction also a bullshit for you ?

Nobody is forced to buy anything.
Ask for information before judging anything is not rare, or mind your own business rather than pollute my selling topic guys...

jbeedham good work ! list looks very nice .

but:

-the Mazora Dreamcast is missing
-as you call it "Seaman Special Package" picture is a fake ( the system is brown)
- 1800 Clair Dreamcasts + 50 reproduction !
-No first Run R7 on the list
-There seem to be a Toyota Dreamcast , but ask Sho on that, since i`m a little sceptical on that

@TRIEUMINATOR: it was not my intention to "downgrade" the item. I don't think neomasta is a bad trader at all. But if someone talks about rarity aspects and spreads false informations I will interfere! And I'm really not guessing when it comes to the R7 model. I know all Japanese Dreamcast models + their production runs. So you should keep your mouth shut my friend! For everything else, read on below..

@neomasta: if the R7 is a rarity for you then that's fine with me. No matter what your wholesaler friend says, you can get the unit in Japan even now. But I have to be honest that it's getting harder to get one day by day. I think you misunderstood what I said about the R7 unit! The system itself looks great. I personally do like it. But it's crap in collectors eyes because it's a "cheap" reproduction. I use the word "cheap" because the original model from 1999 came with several goodies and discs the new model doesn't have. And you didn't even know about that! Now let me come to the point: what makes me very angry is the following fact.. The original R7 is worth over $1000! But because of the reproduction nobody gives a shit about it anymore. You can't compare it with the Metal Slug 3 reproduction because in that case the item wasn't modified! We just have a few Metal Slug 3 copies more than before, that's all. But as said before, the R7 package from 2001 isn't similar to the one from 1999!

I want all to understand the following: neomasta can sell his R7 at what price he likes, to whom he likes and so on.. it's none of my business! But telling me that I should just shut up because I'd have no clue what I'm talking about makes me angry. I know almost everything when it comes to Japanese videogames, unlike most other gamers/sellers/collectors who only pretend to know a lot!

That's all!

Regards,
shousa
