I'm all over Metroid Hunters as soon as I can get my hands on it. I'll probably wait to pick up Tetris though as I'm still playing Animal Crossing a lot along with Metroid Pinball.

Gamepro is the only review for Hunters up so far, 90%. Tetris has gotten mixed ratings, 9.0 from IGN and 7.5 from Gamespot, although most of the ratings on gamerankings.com have it around 90% average.

Wait I thought it comes out tomorrow...
I never got the call from gamestop last night. I'll have to see I guess.
But yeah I'm getting Tetris for sure. But I'm really now debating weather or not on picking up Metroid. I'm sure they improved it since the demo and I played the demo again a few days ago and it made me sad at how bad the game was. Although I thought it was a great demo when I first played it.

Metroid looks very grainy and drab. I'll wait to play it with someone else before I commit to buy.

See that is kinda the way I feel. Not to mention I'm still putting many hours into Animal Crossing. I have played that game every day but one since it has come out.
I checked Nintendo.com and it does say the release date is today. But it won't be in stores untill tomorrow.

I preordered Tetris, so it's only a matter of time before it's in my hands.

I don't think I'll get Metroid because I suck at FPS games.

I'll only buy a Metroid game if its in 2 or 2.5 D. Any other Metroid in 3D is just another FPS game, and frankly I won't know the difference playing it.

Listening to what you guys say really is backing up the reason I was thinking about skipping Metroid. But then again this is the Neo forum most people are not 3d whores here. Tetris is a must for everyone I say. They have not had a good Tetris for quite a while. This one just seems to really take the cake.

I'll probably get Tetris. The Metroid looks lame and the demo sucked IMO.

I think I'm sold on the Tetris game, EB Games had a demo so I tried it out, it had quite a bunch of different challenge modes, puzzle modes, the game seems reponsive and the colors are vibrant, there's nothing to like about the game, I only wish it didn't cost $30 :( I have like Tetris, Tetris Plus, Tetris Blast on GB, now I'm paying another 30 bones for a game I already have, pay to play as it were :emb:

Metroid Prime Hunters has come a long way from the pack-in demo from 2004. If your talking about the new kiosk demo they have out, that's just a small taste of what the game is really like. I personally think it's the best portable FPS.

The graphics are not grainy at all. They may appear that way on a regular DS but not on the new Lites. It's really fun on Multiplayer LAN and Wi-Fi.

I had a couple of matches this weekend from around my area(got the game a week ago from work). The multiplayer matches are pretty intense. Especially Capture(CTF) the Octolith(flag). It's really fun. Give it a try.

NST did a pretty decent job with this game. Knowing their track record of really buggy games. They've done Retro Studios proud this time around.

I'll put in a good word for Tetris DS also. Fun and addictive like usual.

The demo big? or the whole game? I believe they cleaned up alot. At least it looked that way. I could be wrong.

My problem with Metroid Prime: Hunters is that they made a Metroid and completely scrapped what makes Metroid games great: exploration. Forgive me for this rant, I am speaking out of my ass somewhat because i havent played the finished product, but from what I have heard the emphasis is on multiplayer and FPS. Dont get me wrong, lots of people dig that, and Im sure it will do good, but Metroid and Castelvania are so great on portables because you have fun getting lost in an expansive non-linear world, not because your running around as fast as possible jumping and shooting as much as you can. I think its gunna be a good solid game, but I think Im gunna have to pass on it.

I hear what your saying about the exploration part with the whole Metroid series. They still have captured the feeling of the Prime games. The game also retains the scanning feature from the console versions. You have lots to explore even though the planets do seem smaller.

Much of the emphasis in single player is going around each planet, encounter the creatures, fighting a hunter, destroying the boss and collecting/escaping with one of the Octolith's.

Honestly, the biggest sell to this game is the Multiplayer and W-Fi aspect. There's no doubt about it. I know it's going to do well cause of it. The single player is still enjoyable, though. That's the biggest reason why i wanted the game. Try it out. Maybe you'll have a difference of opinion.

I will definately give it a shot, hopefully i can find a download station somewhere to try it in the future, or a in store demo thing. I would like to see a 2D Metroid DS send up though, I think what they did with the original Metroid -> Metroid Zero mission was a great idea, id like to see a Super Metroid remake for the DS. Oh well, dont want to go too far off topic, i just wish i could be playing tetris DS right now, I am playing original Tetris on my original Gameboy right now instead. :)
