I managed to grab one of these from a friend last night. Anyone heard of it? The attachment enables someone to hook their PSP up to a television screen. It has an A/V and S-video output. What i didn't know was, the device has a PStwo controller port on it. Giving the ability to use either a joypad or an arcade stick. YES! No more crappy D-pad(Obviously, i'm going with fighting games on this).

So i tested it with Alpha 3 and Guilty Gear XX Reload - Worked out beautifully. I can do fireballs or any other HCF motion with ease. Makes the fighting game experience a whole lot easier. I'll bust out Vampire Chronicles so I can finally enjoy the experience finally.

I recommend this device to anyone who wants to experience what fighting games on the PSP are suppose to control-like(willing to spend a little money too). For those who didn't get one of those D-Pad stick-ons Capcom supplied with SF@3Max, here's an alternate solution to your control problems. It doubles as a PSP player for the T.V too(quality is not too great). Which in a way, totally defeats the purpose of it being a portable. Oh well.

Sorry if the pics were a little grainy. I think it's time to buy a new digital camera soon. That triple-pack of cereal looks mighty tempting. "Gotta have my POPS."

I bought one of these and sold it soon after. Although it does work as promised, if you hook it up to any type of larger TV, the picture quality is terrible. I had it hooked up to my 32" Aquos LCD via S-video and I couldn't tolerate it. Never tried it on a smaller, tube TV, but I heard it looks a bit better. Also, I didn't like how the PSP loooked with the included faceplates. I am sure Sony is going to make a device to hook up the PSP to TV via the USB cable pretty soon. That is the only way they can compete with the video ipod. Anyway, just wanted to say that I was not too impressed with this product.

I agree it does have it's flaws. The set-up(faceplates) does look a bit ghetto-ish. I mainly like it for the ability to use a PStwo controller, though. That's what mostly sold me.

The quality of the picture is a let-down. Honestly, I don't think PSP games were really meant to be seen on a bigger screen. I've also seen what DS games look like on a regular tv at work. It's not a pretty site either.

Dont quote this as being the Gospel Truth .... but I heard that supposedly Sony was working on an add-on type device for playing UMDs. Kinda like the gameboy player was for the Gamecube. Had any of you guys ever heard a rumor like that?

If I decide to get one of those PSP 2 TV Adaptor will I be able to have my PSP handheld standing up on my table tray that goes over my bed and use the PS2 controller if I don't feel like holding my PSP handheld in my hands while playing fighting games like Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX, Guilty Gear XX Reload etc?.;)

I am sure that Sony could make a UMD player for any TV size if they decided to I bet.:D

How exactly does the controller work. I mean does it tap into the remote and rework the controllers to the controller?

From what I've experienced, once the controller is pulled into the port, it just automatically maps the buttons like normal. Since the PSP is only six-buttons, L2 and R2 are obviously disabled.
