unm.... a US gold system with a mid 60,000 serial?

I thought the gold systems started in at 100,000... or 130,000...

My Us gold system I got in 1993 was at 130,000 and the gold system just came out not that long before I got them.

These are brand new 1st gen. Gold Systems - the boxes have 'A Quantum Leap Forward' on them, and not'24 Bit Home System' on them like the later Gold Systems did when packed with Magician Lord.

They've been in storage nigh on 10 years+

If Shawn can ask $1,200 for a Silver System with the less popular Controller Pro and NO inpack game, what's so bad with $1,500? Just towing the line...

for some reason... I think my box says "a quantum lead forward." I thought it also stated 24 bit on the front and sides too..

Well, I have no idea when the Gold Systems came out, but I'm pretty sure it was prior to 1993, and these are direct from SNK. In fact, weren't they dropped around 1993 in favour of just the space/shipping friendly silver systems?

I've seen 330,XXX+ serial systems with old style sticks and old style boxes, yet the 330+ systems were supposedly the last manufactured, come in the latest AES revision box (white handle), and come with a Controller Pro.

I will have to get a better picture of that...

but on the top shelf is my box. If came with 2 controllers (old style sticks... but brand new).
Everything was brand new when I got it.

it is a US unit.

BTW... does that US unit have a "sticker" on the bottom from the manufacturing plant.... or whatever place it came from. It is a black sticker that says something like neogeoID..
Part of my sticker was crossed out in black.. some serial number.. or something. I would have to take a picture of it to show you.

I have see a few AES Old Style Sticks come through my store with these same stickers.

Not sure what they are, do yo know? (sorry for the off topic stuff).

I got my Neo Geo Gold in 91 and gold sticker on the box says "Nam75 or Baseball Star Pro" as pack-in game.

I'm pretty sure Tarma has the oldest Gold systems in hand!!!

Yup, those are the style systems I've got :)

@ Dave - you've got the later style Gold System box. Neither of the systems I have have got 'home arcade system' written on them. Nor do they have any stickers either. Boxes do have 'Distributed by SNK Home Entertainment Inc. Torrence CA' printed on the rear though :)

Heavy buggers as well! loco

023233 is that old system. Then again I have had 100XXX consoles with the CD joystick and the new games (FF3, Samurai II, Top Hunter) on the back. And at least here in Japan the boxes tend to feature a sticker on the outside listing the serial number, so you can see if your system truly belongs in its box.

I will upload a picture tonight to show you what I mean.

I have seen it on a few AES Old Style Joysticks.
My AES System (Gold/US).. and a few other Us systems. Although, I have seen it on a few Japanese systems... but on the Japanese systems... part of the sticker did not have a "black sharpy pen line" going through some of the text. some of the other US aes systems had this too... but many Japanese and US systems do not have this.... I am just curious about why it was there.

I think I have an FCCID sticker... or something.

Oh yeah, I've seen FCC stickers on the majority of US systems I've come into contact with. They're not always present, but most of the time they are.

The only sticker I've seen on joysticks, is a small silver sticker on the bottom of old style sticks which just say 'Neo•Geo AEP'.

Bump for you, but I was wondering, did they change the rule where we do not have to wait 36 hours before bumping? Just curious, because that rule sucks!
