my local lowes and home depots only stock this shitty 1/8" or 1/16" lexan stuff.

its ok for monitor glass (private use anyway), but it cracked when i was trying to drill it out for my control panel.

im looking for 1/4" which seems to be most popular on arcade cabs.

any help would be appreciated.

In Northern California, everyone goes to Tap Plastics. They can custom cut you a control panel covering and even drill the holes. Try looking in the phone book under "Plastics" and see if there a plastic specialty shop near you. They are pretty common just like metal fabrications shops.

1/8 inch plexi will crack but the lexan won't. Plexi is too brittle regardless of the thickness. I can't imagine how expensive 1/4 inch lexan would be. I've done plenty of of projects with the thin lexan from home depot and had no problems with cracking.

I prefer to Use an old Soldering Iron to drilling.
