This could very well be Sony's answer to the Advance Wars franchise.

The multi-player mode should be a blast, since the game supports both ad-hoc and infrastructure modes.

Anyone looking forward to getting this?

Looks OK. I was thinking of getting it.
Answer to he AW series? I dunno...one of the things that makes AW so great is that everything occurs lightning-fast...I don't see that happening on the PSP.

Well, Killzone was Sony's answer to Halo - and we know how well that went...

Looks ok. But advance wars had tons of character and the execution of the design is what made it fun, Ill give this a go though.

I'll second this. AW had hilarious(though often lame) dialogue and was just quick and fun for portable strategy. I have no interest in plodding through load screens and in-game load-times in a portable strat game.

Field Commander does -look- good, but it'll have to play like smooth corinthian leather to top the AW games. I know the reviews of the other recent PSP strat game have been pretty mixed(Generation of Chaos).

However, I'll say this: it's nice to see some original properties on the PSP, and I'm a sucker for this kind of game. Which means there's a 99% chance I'll buy it unless it gets all-around mediocre reviews.

I recently bought generation of chaos. Its alright. But extremely niche. I can totally see why people dont like it. Its like a toned down dragon force with a few differences such as the ability to buy weopons and develope the land for your own strategic play. Its good but only for the select few.
