Well I just picked up the game. And I tried everything to try and not upgrade but I did. So now I have a 2.6 psp. But I figured since all I really play is emulation now and the games are getting bigger all the time. A 1 gig stick isn’t going to cut it anymore for anything but old ROMs. So I said I could always get GTA and go that route.
Anyways the game is a lot like a toned down dragon force. Its decent but very niche. I have only played it for about 15 mins up till this point and have fought a few battles but one thing I don’t like about it is the loading. It loads files on the fly causing stutters in battles and some of the menus when cycling through characters. Graphics are decent, character design is decent. And there are a lot of options to it. A decent purchase in my opinion but could have been a little better executed on a couple of levels, also a bigger TV would have been better as sometimes the map is hard to make out as the town icons are a little bigger then they should be. Takes a little getting used too.
I did download this first and it doesn’t boot up but I did manage to get it working by transferring over the USRDIR directory of the US copy to the Jap version minus the codec’s. So basically I just kept the Jap codec’s in place and it booted without having to upgrade past UMD emulator. But all the menus were in jap text but everything else was in english, cutscenes, story etc, so I caved and just bought the game cause I wanted teh full experience
Anyways its an alright addition. Try before you buy as like I said before it is extremely niche.
Also anybody got a grand theft auto to sell me. UMD only!
