Hi,

I am seriously considering the purchase of a Taito Egret 3, but I have some questions that I hope you guys can answer:

- Is the Egret 3 pre-wired to JAMMA or just to Type X?
- Is there a control panel from the factory that has the 6-buttons per player (to play Capcom games)?
- Is there something special about this cab that I should know before buying it?

Sure some people would argue that for less money I could buy a Naomi universal, but the Egret 3's monitor rotating mechanism makes it a more compeling choice.

Thanks in advance,

Charles

As far as I know from the arcades in Tokyo, yes they come with a 6 button 2 player panel.

-Type X should be JAMMA...:spock:

-If six button is a big deal I'd suggest an Impress.

-The monitor on the type 3's have the option to switch between low, medium, and high resolutions.

I think the Type X hardware requires a separate I/O board to make it JAMMA compatible, like with NAOMI motherboards.

Yes, they are jamma and they have 6 button layouts.

No, you won't find one for sale. They are still new and Taito hasn't been getting rid of them yet. They are still ONLY at Taito arcades. You can get your hands on an Atomiswave cab, which is generally the same thing but no monitor rotating mechanism. :(
