OK, I have an old Taito cocktail cab that I am renovating. Galaxian multi-game hacked board in it. Used to be a mame cab.

and I recently got replacement sticks for it from Mikesarcade (red ball type) which I thought would be suitable.

The trouble is that these are not very sensitive, like the throw is inadequate. For instance in the last stage of Scramble I can get through the mazes/tunnels with the old clapped out sticks, but no way with the new ones. The action seems too slow :( you need to move forward top to rear bottom in a real hurry in the last stage of Scramble.
The new red ball sticks are fine for Galaxian, thats about all.

Whats considered to be a good quick action 8 way stick around here.

Not sure if they fit in these type of cabs, but what about a Sanwa or Seimitsu stick. They are very sensitive. Seimitsu has a shorter throw.

The "red balls" only just fit in there, I will get dimensions to compare with the Sanwa.
