I have a serious problem on my hands and I was wondering if you people could help me resolve this problem. The problem that I am having is that I can’t get girls to like me. This may sound funny to some of you but it is a really big problem for me. The last time a girl kissed me was back in 1991 when I was in the third grade. So it has been 13 long years since a girl has kissed me and I am getting very fed up. I feel that I am about to explode. I am open to any and all ideas on how to get girls to like me. 1. Lay off the Neo.

Video games in general are a really bad substitute for real life. You need something interesting to be able to talk about with women, and aside from a few fat girls with really bad acne, most women have little to no interest in this nerdy-ass pastime.
If you want to conquer your sexless existence, drop the games and get a new hobby where you might actually meet women, try rock climbing (at a facility) or jogging or a book club. Seriously, if you have nothing to talk about, whenever you do meet a lady you're going to be such a babbling pile of shit with nothing to say that she has no choice but to bolt.

2. It's A Chicken And Egg Thing.

To get experience, you have to BE experienced. Yes, it's a catch. But the sad fact is that until you convey the confidence of having been with a couple girls and feeling good about yourself, you're gonna reek of total virgin from miles away and no woman (unless similarly inexperienced) is going to want to hang out with you. Start small...you might want to score with a supermodel, but it's gonna take a few successful runs with some perhaps less than attractive women before you get the hang of it and feel compelled to seek higher game.

3. Be yourself.

This ties into the first two. Don't try to be something you're not. Lying about your income and doing all the weak-ass player tricks isn't going to land you anything worth talking to. If 'you' aren't worth talking to, make something better of yourself so you can be someone worth talking to.

Remember what Tony Montana said in 'Scarface'.

First you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women.

There's a reason he said the women last. You need the other things, aka confidence and sense of self, before you go out and work magic on the ladies.

Well, it sounds like you're actually serious - so I'll try and give a little bit of helpful advice.

1) Don't bother trying to your change personality - you are who you are. That being said - you do have to make an effort to get out there and meet women.

2) Try not to allow yourself to dwell on one particular girl unless you two have been together for awhile and have a successful relationship.

3) Most importantly, you just gotta get and there on the front lines and talk to women (lots of women), and see what works for you. It's generally a rather frustrating process, but you have take a few shots to get what you want. It's simple probability - the more women you go after, the more you'll get and the more comfortable you'll become with them.

I am sure that I have bad breath since I smoke all the time. I have at least 30 smokes a day. Also, I am smoking Pall Mall 100's. If you know anything about cigarettes then you would know that these last almost 7 minutes each. A regular cigarette such as Camels or Marlboros last about 3 and a half minuets each. So I am basically smoking around 3 packs of Camels or Marlboros when I smoke a pack and a half of Pall Mall 100's.

I used to have a good head of hair but I have a very bad receding hair line. I use Rogain now but it hasn't helped that much. My hair is now pretty thin as well these days. I think that I will have to get hair plugs before I am 24. I do brush my teeth but they are a little bit yellow so I should probably get them cleaned.

I do wash my face a lot but I still break out now and then. Actually, I always have a number of pimples on my face and am constantly popping them - they are on the large side as well. Not as bad as they were 5 years ago but still not that great.

No, you are very wrong actually. I am real this desperate. I really need help and I was hoping that some forum members could help me with my serious problem. I really do want girls to like me. You've gotta quit - that's way too much smoking for someone your age (or any age). Get the patch, Nicorette, or whatever it takes. Besides chasing chicks away, you won't live past 40 at that rate.

Get the plugs if you think you'll look weird with short hair - and get your teeth cleaned at least once a year, preferably once every six months.

What hasn't really been addressed here is your personal appearance.

If you look better, you will feel better, and girls will respond more easily.

You said you have a slight acne problem... buy some proactive gel. www.proactive.com.

Your build seems a bit on the lanky side... It wouldn't hurt to gain a few pounds of muscle. You could join a gym, and go maybe 2 times a week, or if that's not your thing, buy some barbells, and maybe a bench press for home and just lift a bit. I go to the gym, and I also have a Bowflex for home, those look kinda funny.. but they really get the job done. Not quite as good as the gym. But good.

Also your teeth/breath, take good care of them, make sure to brush two times a day, Targon toothpaste might help in your situation, get a whitening kit from the supermarket, and make them a few shades less "yellow". And before you leave the house use some mouthwash to get the cigarette smell out.

As for you clothes...

You need atleast two sets of good clothes to start out with.

Get some good attire from the mall or any place around where you live thats a bit on the "nicer" side. Having a girl help you pick stuff out would be really helpful, but that might not be an option. Just look for a nice pair of pants, a nice shirt, (nothing gawdy... no dragons... none of that printed madness) in a solid tone.

And get a new Haircut... to keep yourself as well kempt as possible.


Then perhaps check out the club scene, or try and go to a few parties, or if your going the netgirl route... use your better appearance when meeting such types.

I don't know what to tell you past what others have already said. There has been some insightful advice, and I can only affirm what I have already seen. You get women to like you because of who you are. It's what you have to offer that is unique and what no one else has which is you. Be yourself, have fun around them and don't feel like you must impress them. I don't know you at all besides some board posts, but you seem like an alright guy who just needs a confidence booster. If you are hanging around girls that don't appreciate you being a gentleman, then it is thier loss and don't feel like you must convince them otherwise. This doesn't just apply to women, but people in general. There are people who will thank you for your effort and realy appreciate you, and others will not care a bit.

Don't just hang out with girls just to have girls that "like" you. Hang out with girls who are genuine and appreciate your certian way of talking or just for your unique company and don't settle for second best. Trust me, there are some awesome women out there who appreciate men for being gentlemen, but don't let the ones who don't get you down. Once that girl comes around, all of your time you spent looking will not be wasted. Quantity does not equal quailty, and don't worry so much. I have heard that a number of you have mentioned that I should go to a gym since being 6 feet tall and only weighing 155 pounds isn't that great. The funny thing is, I work out 5 times a week. I used 35 pound weights on the preacher bar. That isn't all that easy. I can do that 10 times in a row for 5 sets. I can bench press 165 pounds easily 10 times for 5 sets - which is more than I weigh. I can do 600 push-ups in one day without any problem. I do my push-ups in 6 sets with 100 reps each. I use a 60 pound dumbbell for the French curl. I can do that 50 times in a row. I do that about 4 times so 200 reps.

I also do the leg press machine and I put about 400 pounds on it and do 30 reps. I usually do 400-500 crunches every other day. I also work my deltoids with a 35 pounder doing arm extensions. I use 85 pound weights for the dumbbell press. I use the maximum weight on the abb-machine which is 200 pounds. I do a lot of other things as well. I am actually a lot stronger than most of the people who weigh a lot more than me but I am still thin as a rail. I wish I could get bigger. Oh well....

I wish that were the case. However, idiots seem to reproduce like rats. Whether they're trailer park trash, hoes from the ghetto, or whatever - I'd say that as a species, we're devolving at an alarming rate. Have you tried protein shakes? After (Or before) my workouts sometimes, I make a Vanilla Protein Powder, Nonfat milk, and banana (for sugar) Protein Shake.

It tastes damn good... And helps build Muscle... not fat.

I usually have two protein shakes on the days that I am working out. I have done that for about a month and so far it hasn't worked too well. Also, I don't have hardly any fat on me. I am almost all muscle. I have been told that I am not that bad looking. If someone wants a picture of me, just let me know and I can send it in an email. You are talking about your workout routine and it seems pretty decent, but all you are really doing is just adding definition. More reps and less wieght just tones what you already have but doesn't really bulk you up. If you are wanting to bulk up, do less reps, more wieghts and if you are serious, try a protien shake or check out GNC and see what they have (if you've got the extra bucks to spend). Besides, lifting wieghts and wieght training is great, but it's all in the way you carry yourself. I have a couple of good friends on the baseball team at my college who are pretty well cut guys, but they caryy themselves with shoulders slumped, head down, and bad posture. I know it might sound a but silly that posture and all that crap your folks told you to do when your a kid effects you ("STAND UP STRAIT!!"), but it really does.

Dask K was right on the money on the fact that I've seen a lot of very attractive women with guys and I'm going "How did he get with her?", but it happens for one main reason, personality. Now I know it sounds cheesy like a bad Ronco Food Dehydrator infommercial, but it's true. Men are more geared towards the physical (generally speaking) while women look for a guy that has a good character and personality that interests them. Many women would gladly sacrifice looks for a little more personality and uniqueness. I don't think it's "What more do I need to do?", but more of a "What do I need to do with what I already have?". Take what you have and try to make it the best it can be. Whether it's looks, clothes, teeth, personality, etc., make it the best it can be and see where that takes you.

Walk with a little more confidence. I'm also a taller guy. I'm around 6'4" and wiegh about 220 and I had noticed that since I was taller then a good amount of the people I knew, I unknowingly slouched my shoulders to kind of "fit in" in a way. This way I wasn't so tall and I did it out of habit. Lately the person I'm dating a I were talking about things, and she had stated that she noticed from the time she's known me (about 10 years or so), that I had a bit of a slouched posture and maybe did it to compensate for the fact that I'm taller. Now I make sure to walk with more confidence and have a proper posture. Don't act cocky or tough, just have confidence and that will go a long way towards improving your overall self image.

I am afraid that I do hunch over a lot. I always feel that I have a large weight on my back that pushes me down. When I notice that I am hunched over, I try to straighten up a bit to show more confidence. You could probably tell from my picture (the one that I have) that I don't have a lot of self-confidence. I am afraid that I do hunch over a lot. I always feel that I have a large weight on my back that pushes me down. When I notice that I am hunched over, I try to straighten up a bit to show more confidence. You could probably tell from my picture (the one that I have) that I don't have a lot of self-confidence. If I had a friend, then maybe I would like myself more. However, right now I don't have any friends and I haven't had one in years.

Like I said, it's quality over quantity. I myself had a ton of friends in high school, but things changed a bit. After I got into college, the opportunity to make good friends wasn't there and most of my other good friends from high school went to other colleges and we lost touch over the years. I myself have a really awesome friend named Erik. Had him in one of my graphics design courses and ever since then, he's been a good friend and someone who isn't just a person who uses you or is some college pot smoking fiend. I think if you try to seek out people who are quality and genuine, it would help greatly. Being raised in the MTV generation of the "Real World" most people see the 20-28 year old demographic as a buch of pissy kids who have mood swings. There are plenty of those kids of people around, but don't watse your time becoming good friends with them. I mean I have my share of people I'm familiar with, but not friends with. Sometimes, like I said, you have to wait for some things to come to you, and no matter how hard you try, the friendship, relationship, girls, etc. are going to come to you at a certain time no matter what you do, so until then, work on your self confidence so that by the time all those things do come along, you won't miss them.

As Mistress said, nice clothes would help. Go down to Old Navy even. They have clothes that are fairly well priced that look nice and last a good while. The only other advice I could give you is to just get out of the house, even if you don't have a specific place to go, just get out, drive around, and just do something more then sit around. Also, try and see if people at school are having any social events. As mundane as it sounds, the classic football game or sporting event is a decent way to at least let your presence be known and meet new people, but you have to want to do that. If you come into any social situation and feel this void, then you have already defeated yourself before you even started. Find those things you are good at socially. It could be humor, smarts, joy, or any other social skill you are good at. Humor seems to be the bese (if you are good at it) because it breaks the ice a little better then a dry comment. I think the biggest part is you have to respect yourself before you can get others to do it, and right now, you aren't really doing that. By smoking, not showering, not brushing your teeth, and many other factors, you disrespect yourself and put yourself in a bad position to start off with, so get those things fixed. They are simple and once you start it, they will become a habit and in turn will help you in you daily life.

It is obvious that you don't understand me. I didn't start this thread as a joke. I started this thread so that I could get some advice. I have gotten very upset actually by posts such as yours poking fun at my problem. I took some painkillers to numb my mental pain. I have been taking a lot of them recently to numb my pain. I hate everyday that I am alive. I feel nothing but endless misery.

I wasn't the bad guy in the Jigen issue. He attacked me without just cause. I tried to be cool with him but he kept attacking me. I lashed out at him. I have heard that a number of you have mentioned that I should go to a gym since being 6 feet tall and only weighing 155 pounds isn't that great. The funny thing is, I work out 5 times a week. I used 35 pound weights on the preacher bar. That isn't all that easy. I can do that 10 times in a row for 5 sets. I can bench press 165 pounds easily 10 times for 5 sets - which is more than I weigh. I can do 600 push-ups in one day without any problem. I do my push-ups in 6 sets with 100 reps each. I use a 60 pound dumbbell for the French curl. I can do that 50 times in a row. I do that about 4 times so 200 reps.

I also do the leg press machine and I put about 400 pounds on it and do 30 reps. I usually do 400-500 crunches every other day. I also work my deltoids with a 35 pounder doing arm extensions. I use 85 pound weights for the dumbbell press. I use the maximum weight on the abb-machine which is 200 pounds. I do a lot of other things as well. I am actually a lot stronger than most of the people who weigh a lot more than me but I am still thin as a rail. I wish I could get bigger. Oh well....


Your body weight has nothing to do with it. I am 6 foot and weight about 145lbs. Alot of girls like me, and I just hooked up with a hot ass girl the other night. It's all about how you act around them. If you act like a scared coward they are not going to think anything of you. Just because your skinny does not mean that girls don't think you look good. Some girls love skinny guys and for god sakes being skinny is alot better then being fat unless your after the thick girls. Looks are not what is most important to girls anyways, they do not think like us. You seem very unhappy and insecure with yourself, and the direction your life is going, almost to the point that it's becoming dangerously unhealthy. I would make an appointment with a psychologist tomorrow morning, and see how it goes. If your attitude doesn't improve, I would then consider visiting a psychiatrist, and possibly getting on some type of medication temporarily.

Once you get things worked out in that capacity, I think the rest of the things you're after will fall into place. You should at least consider it.

Medication won't do shit, it totally fucked my sisters life over. The only way he is going to feel better and gain confidence is to go out and meet some ladies. I use a 60 pound dumbbell for the French curl. I can do that 50 times in a row. I do that about 4 times so 200 reps.

I also do the leg press machine and I put about 400 pounds on it and do 30 reps. I usually do 400-500 crunches every other day. I also work my deltoids with a 35 pounder doing arm extensions. I use 85 pound weights for the dumbbell press. I use the maximum weight on the abb-machine which is 200 pounds. I do a lot of other things as well. I am actually a lot stronger than most of the people who weigh a lot more than me but I am still thin as a rail. I wish I could get bigger. Oh well....

So you do all this exercise and you smoke loads of cigarettes every day.

I would have to go with Mistress on this one just for the plain fact that it will make all these clean living styles into a habit if nothing else. No matter what the general thought on bathing (whether every 2-3 days or everyday), the more you do it, the more in a habit and pattern you will get. Sure, you might not "have" to do it, but why not? You don't seem to have much to do with your time anyway, so if you get the chance, go take a shower, clean up, and look good for the time you might have the chance to hang out with fellow people of your species. Also, cologne is something some use and some don't. I myself like it because not only does it make you smell good, but it gives you your own distinctive smell. I myself used to wear Curve and then after awhile, my friends would smell what some other guy was wearing and say, "Hey, you smell like Brian". It's a nice way to make yourself different from the crowd. Seriously, go down to Dillards and spend some time just browsing through and smell some samples. Get something you like, but not something that everyone else might have. If nothing else, go out and pick up "Very Sexy" for men at Victoria Secret. It's something that most women I know have a liking to and when I used to wear it (before all my other guy friends did), women in general seemed to like it and it's a nice good clean smell. So in the end, yes, cologne doesn't make you, but with the problems you seem to have, you need all the help you can get, so don't slack off and just do a mediocre job.

I myself currently am because even thought I'm livign at home, I still have to take out loans for my college for each semester. If I have parents who are kind and giving wnough to let me focus on my major and my grades instead of getting 2 hours of sleep between work, school, roomates who stay up all night, etc., then sure, I'll take that. Then there are those who want more freedom and can deal with the fact that they have to work harder. I myself am one who likes to be able to enjoy my day and live at home still. It's more of a personal taste then anything. One lets you have more money, but less freedom (depending on the parents), while the other is less money but more freedom, but for me, if I'm blessed to have parents like that, then I'm not going to put myself through pain just for the heck of it. I'll have 50+ years of dealing with living outside of the house and by then the facts of marriage and kids will be quite enough for me, so I'm enjoying my freedom while I can.

Yah. There is nothing wrong with living at home. Shit, I graduated this year, after paying my own way through college. I got a job earlier this year, and it pays well. I'm just currently saving for a house, which I will have at age 25 (24 now). I guess it's easier for people to label people who live at home a loser, rather than say, "that's a pretty smart way to do things". Just makes them feel a little better about themselves.

Yah. There is nothing wrong with living at home. Shit, I graduated this year, after paying my own way through college. I got a job earlier this year, and it pays well. I'm just currently saving for a house, which I will have at age 25 (24 now). I guess it's easier for people to label people who live at home a loser, rather than say, "that's a pretty smart way to do things". Just makes them feel a little better about themselves.

Yes, I am very serious about this thread. A lot of people think that this thread is a joke because they believe that no one could actually be this pathetic but in reality, I really am this pathetic. I really can't stand the way I look at all. I wish that I didn't even look like me. I must be seriously ugly because no matter how nice I am to someone, they always just piss in my face. I can make them laugh their ass' off but it still doesn't do any good.

I didn't used to be this negative but after getting nothing but getting kicked in the teeth day and night - you would become like me as well. In fact, I hate myself so much right now I have decided to get drunk. I started drinking at 12:30, right after I got home from school, and I am already getting a bit drunk. I hope that I will be passed out soon so I won't have to remember the rest of today. I wish that someone would just put me out of my misery.

I am afraid that I am beyond the point of helping myself. Someone is going to have to put the effort forth to try and help me. I need someone in the real world to try and meet me half-way but so far no one has done that so I will continue to sink lower and lower. Eventually you learn that it is best to give up so that you will not feel even worse for trying to save yourself when there really is no hope and never was to begin with.

You've been given a lot of good advice in this thread, but you've obviously refused to try an apply any of it. Its just so much easier to keep spouting off the same old statements of self-pity isn't it? You talk of wanting someone to meet you halfway, but it is pretty obvious by your actions here that you're not willing to meet anyone else halfway. You just want someone to fall in your lap without having to do any work.
