So I took the d-pad off of my psp, which has rendered it kinda useless. Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement for the double-sided sticky pads?

I MacGuyvered mine...

...w/ VELCRO (!)

I know it sounds cheesy, yet it works like a charm.

My problem was that I wanted to have both the D-Pad (which as you know sits REALLY tall) and keep using my Logitech hard case ( when my PSP is in 'back pack stuff crush ipod mode').

The D-pad needs to come off in order for the Logicase to snap shut.

I've got the 'soft' velcro on the PSP 'thumb squares' and the 'rough' velcro stuck to my Capcom D-pad. I also have a 'soft' patch on my Logicase so I don't misplace my D-pad.

If you want, I can post pix tonight when I get off of work.

<I had to experiment a few times with how precise to make my velcro pieces for the 'thumb squares' in order for the stock PSP Dpad to not get stuck in any one direction. The way I've got it now is dialed perfectly. FINAL ATOMIC BUSTERS @ will for all my unlucky opponents.:mr_t: >

Now that sounds sweet, I'd like to be able to remove it when I want. I'd really appreciate some pics.

I still need a solution to this. Velcro is good, but the bond isn't strong enough. The d-pad feels like its going to fall off the whole time.

Velcro held down with Duck tape double sided tape, used this method to hold my Capcom I/O (must weigh at least 1kg) to the inside of my cab door & it worked a treat.
