I keep wanting to get one, but I can't sift through all of the shit emu's enough to see what is good and *close* if not 100%.

What I want in order of priority:

Neo Geo
GBA
SNES
NES
Amiga
Mame
Genesis
WonderSwan

Also, will my divx stuff work without getting run through a video processor/compressor first?

I don't have one, but I do have a GP32 (don't use it much though). And I can tell you the best site to ask questions on these systems is here: http://www.gp32x.com/

The people there will know everything and then some!

Your Divx videos doesnt need any compression. The gp2x will automatically resize the video to fit on the screen.

The Neo Geo Emulator on this works well. Even better with the Neorage frontend. Most of the smaller games work at full speed with sound assuming you overclock to at least 266mhz. The emulator has a built in dumpgpx, so the bigger games like Metal Slug 5 is compatible. Most of the bigger games run without sound, but it takes some configuring.

The GBA emulator is slow, i dont recommend it. SNES runs decent some games work, so games dont.

Genesis Emulator runs at full speed with sound.

I havent tested on the others yet.

PS - if you buy one, you need rechargables.....buy a big card too.

so, in other words, it's the gp32 all over again....? Are they at least advancing things a bit?

HEAVEN FORBID homebrew actually being developed incrementally and not just being working from the first version.

:p

its not much like the gp32 either, not the same hardware, not the same SDK, not the same API.

development on this machine with SDL doesnt take much time, hence why all this shit is already there within the first few months of the hardwares release. give it time. and it will improve. .. jesus
