When does the green screen happen? Be sure the program ROMs are seated correctly and that there are no bent pins betwen the 'a' and 'b' board connectors.

Upon start-up, after switching on the power, it immediately turns to a pea soup green screen.

Sounds like contact problems between the A and B boards. Do you have another A-board on hand to test it with.

Have you tried squeezing the boards together on the spots where the contacts are? I was having a similar problem with mine and even though the A+B boards appeared to be as tight as they could be, it just required that extra force to make it happen.

Hmm, it suddenly started doing it again for no reason.

Any other suggestions?

Remove the boards, blow some compressed air on the contacts and re-fit them tightly. That should do the trick.

Still not working :(

After a dark green screen, I try again and it boots to a lighter green screen?
WTF.

Time to open your B board and re-seat the eproms then. Take the time to clean out the connectors both on the A and B boards througly to make sure they're also fine. Since your board is battery de-suicided, it shouldn't be giving you any sorts of problems...
