Need some help. I bought a TMNT: Turtles in Time board about 2 months ago from Great Western. When I first got it, during the ROM/RAM test rom G10 tested bad and set the game into a constant reset. However I pulled up the rom and re-seated it and it worked. However everytime after that the rom would test bad untill I pulled the rom and reseated it (sometimes have to do it several times). Last night I went to play it and no matter what I did the rom tested bad. How do I replace that rom? Does anyone have a parts TMNT 2 board? What can I do to get this board back to life, it was expensive.

Sounds like you either have corrosion on the pins of the chip... or you have a bad socket on the board.

Clean the chip pins carefully or replace the socket carefully.

If you don't have experience with desoldering a multi-layer board then you really should find someone that can do it for you. If you pull any of the plated thru hole out you will damage the board.

Replace the socket, that should fix it.
I have a parts board around somewhere if you need anything PM. If you need to replace the rom, program a fresh one from the mame set.

Would anyone be able to replace the rom socket for me? How much would you charge for something like this? Love this game, and want to get it back to 100% working.

He wants the rom socket, not the rom itself.

I completly cleaned the pins on the rom and still the same problem, so I am thinking the rom socket is what needs to be replaced. Let me know if you can do this replacement.
