Every time I power on my strikers 1945, it will not get pass the boot up screen. It stays stuck on the point when it check the security chip. I assume the chip has malfunctioned/died, is there any method out there to bypass/replace this chip. The chip in question is not surface mount, it is socketed.

Is it a S1945+ MVS cart or a standalone S1945 JAMMA PCB?

Off the top of my head, those chips are protected from dumping, so I don't think a replacement would be available unless you pulled it from another PCB. Midway used those same chips as security chips for their mid-late 90's games, and as far as I know, noone has been able to make replacements yet.
