I have a Samurai Showdown 2 cart that has a slight problem with the audio. It seems that while making certain background music the audio becomes extremely distorted and resembles an “explosion” sound. I tried cleaning the cart as it was EXTREMELY filthy but this did not help. Perhaps a bath in water/alcohol would help? At this point I have nothing to lose, as the game is too annoying to play that way.

If its a multislot board, try it in different slots to eleiminate the board as the culprit, or rather the boards slot.

You might have some crud in the cart to, so a bath isnt such a bad idea. I recently had this problem with an aero fighters 2 cart and giving it a bath and a contact clean fixed the prob.

Too bad I only have a 1-slot.

Thanks for the advice, I will probably try to clean the board completely. If it ruins the game no big loss, it was $15.

I know it's a stupid question... but the cart isn't a boot right?

No, it's a real copy, a Japanese white cart. I took it apart and it's the real deal. It's just dirty as hell on the inside. Funny it's only affecting the audio though.

Gotta give those cart connectors a super good cleaning...

Make sure when tightening the case the pcbs aren't warping inside it..(case too tight on the boards)
