any body help me in this matter
when i connected my cd rom to my computer system cd rom not working correctly
in other words the contents of cd are not shown and i heard bip what is the problem?

please solve my problem

It could be a lot of things ranging from a dirty lens, outdated firmware, loose connections, dead laser etc.

before this problem i again and again enter cd and pull out cd and after 4 or 5 attempts i saw the contents of cd but at that time i try many time but i am not able to see the contents of cd.

i ask you can their is a power supply problem or alignment problem

Well,

You can try a number of things:

Try running the trouble shooter - what operating system are you using?

Run a lens cleaner through it.

Disable and try to reinstall it.

Install a new IDE cable.

Try updating the firmware.

Buy a new CD rom or even better buy a new DVD burner!! :smirk:

Is this cd-rom scsi, ide, usb, firewire, pcmcia, parallel port, etc.??

Is the cable known good?

What operating system are you using?

Does the drive work in another computer?

Have you tried other discs? The disc may be bad.

Are the CD-ROM jumpers set on the right pins? sometimes it stops the computer from picking up the drive if the pins aren't set right.
