I just got in an order from Yaton that included a League Bowling. The boards look original (I may post scans later) and the CRC check passes but it always resets at the end of a game, right after initials entry.
In MVS or console mode, playing 1-player in the default mode (the first, option - I don't remember what it's called), right after initials entry, it makes a strange sound and resets.
In console mode (maybe MVS too, I didn't check), in flash mode, the UniBios comes up with an illegal operation error (I suck because I didn't write down the details) and says to report the error. This is terminal and doesn't allow a reset.
When setting the softdips, the name of the game doesn't appear correctly (looks like a bunch of the lower half of one letter, repeated, like "RRRRRRRRR" maybe) but all the options look right.
I haven't checked with my stock bios yet because I don't want to lose my high scores if I don't have to (like if this is a known problem).
I cleaned the contacts like crazy with everything from alcohol to pencil erasers and sandpaper. The game would go straight to a crosshatch before I cleaned it and for a while I wasn't getting any sound.
So I guess there are a few options here: 1. this is a boot, 2. problem with UniBios, 3. bad original cart, or 4. dirty original cart.
Any ideas?
