How do you wire RGB pots to outside of a supergun?

How do you wire RGB pots for video encoders to be outside of superguns that I see? I know that JROK has adjustment pots on his boards. I don't see any on the Neobitz board but I'm guessing that there is a way to do it. So do people take off the adjustment pots and install other ones that can be case mounted? Or is there a trick to use the existing ones?

a pot is a varitable resistor just extend the input to your pots and to the output.
